Cassian, the GRAMMY-winning DJ, producer, and mixing engineer, unleashes his latest club-ready weapon with “SOS,” out now on John Summit’s acclaimed Experts Only label. Known for championing house and techno heavyweights like Green Velvet, Max Styler, and Kevin De Vries, the imprint welcomes Cassian for the first time with a high-octane debut that’s already setting dance floors ablaze.
True to form, “SOS” is a peak-time thriller. It kicks off with a tense, cinematic build and a hypnotic vocal sample that cascades into a razor-sharp drop anchored by Cassian’s signature syncopated bass line. With its pulsing rhythm and undeniable energy, the track has already become a highlight of his recent DJ sets—including a standout moment during his sold-out performance at London’s KOKO club.
In typical Cassian fashion, the track comes with a tongue-in-cheek backstory:
“Someone told me I look like the Easter Island statues, so at the start of the year, I went on a trip to check them out in the flesh. When I arrived, they started singing this song to me. I quickly recorded it and then was immediately possessed by a spirit who sampled it and produced it into ‘SOS’. So I guess it was a spiritual ghost producer.”
“SOS” follows a strong run of releases, including “Where I’m From” with SCRIPT and Belladonna, and the fan-favorite “Dun Dun” on Afterlife. The new single also lands in the midst of Cassian’s North American tour, which wraps with an all-night-long set for Teksupport at a warehouse in New York City. This summer, he’ll make his highly anticipated Tomorrowland main stage debut, building on his momentum from his role as Music Director for Anyma’s End of Genesys shows at the Las Vegas Sphere.
