Fresh off their GRAMMY® win for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album, Argentine duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso re-emerge with the announcement of their new album FREE SPIRITS, arriving March 19.
The project arrives alongside an unexpected and theatrical narrative introduced via social media last week by Sting, who has stepped into the duo’s orbit as a wellness mentor. In a manifesto-style post, the English icon unveiled the long-secret FREE SPIRITS Center, a holistic retreat he claims to have operated privately for 35 years. According to the statement, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso sought refuge there following a turbulent close to 2025.
After sweeping five major awards at the Latin GRAMMY® Awards last fall, the duo’s rapid ascent was followed by controversy surrounding their unruly video for “GIMME MORE” and what was described as a public unraveling that led them to cancel their maximalist follow-up album, Top of the Hills. The scrapped project had been positioned as a bold celebration of their meteoric rise, making its abrupt cancellation a dramatic turning point.
At the FREE SPIRITS Center, the duo underwent a 12-step healing program that now forms the conceptual backbone of FREE SPIRITS. The album reportedly addresses the dozen personal and creative fractures that pushed them to their breaking point. After hearing the finished work, Sting developed what he calls the “Conscious Listening Paradigm,” an immersive framework for experiencing the album that will be revealed in the coming weeks.
In tandem with the album announcement, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso confirmed plans for a FREE SPIRITS World Tour, with additional details forthcoming.
Marking the beginning of this new chapter, the duo has released “HASTA JESÚS TUVO UN MAL DÍA” via 5020 Records, Sony Music Latin, and RCA Records, featuring Sting himself. Translating to “Even Jesus Had a Bad Day,” the single serves as the first official offering from the FREE SPIRITS era. The track follows the duo’s headline-grabbing appearance on the GRAMMY® Awards red carpet, where they debuted a striking new aesthetic that quickly circulated online.
Now framing themselves as “True Free Spirits,” CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso position this era as a departure from ego and the relentless pursuit of superstardom that defined their Top of the Hills ambitions. Instead, FREE SPIRITS presents a recalibrated outlook shaped by reflection, recovery, and reinvention—an evolution that expands their artistic narrative at a pivotal moment in their career.
