In 2024, the creative team behind Greece’s iconic Cariocas Beach Bar unveiled Burger Disco Club, a contemporary diner-meets-speakeasy listening bar and late-night dancehall located in the heart of Athens.

Just steps away from Constitution Square and Ermou Street—the busiest commercial street in downtown Athens and ranked the 14th most expensive shopping street in the world—Burger Disco Club offers a one-of-a-kind subterranean escape. The venue seamlessly blends casual dining and bespoke cocktails with disco-fueled nightlife, featuring sleek interior design, a handcrafted sound system, and a vibrant community of diverse music lovers.

The venue now enters its sophomore season, running from September 26, 2025, through the new year. International names announced include Les Yeux Orange, Heidi Lawden, Hercules and Love Affair, Louie Vega, Omar S, Luke Una, Lakuti, Tama Sumo, Antal, Vladimir Ivkovic, and Ivan Smagghe, alongside top local talent. Fridays highlight house, Saturdays spotlight disco, Sundays feature special guests, Mondays focus on live jazz, and midweek programming brings pop-ups, gatherings, and collaborations with local collectives.

This season also introduces Ghost Sake Bar, a hybrid speakeasy and listening bar with an East Asia-inspired menu and guest music selectors. Its system is carefully designed with vintage Japanese, US, and UK audio components to complement bespoke Bill Pal speakers, echoing the meticulous sound philosophy that has defined Cariocas since 1998. The signature Cariocas Soundsystem—refined through decades of trial and error—has been praised by legends such as Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, François K, Gilles Peterson, Joe Claussell, and Danny Krivit.

The new season also brings fresh menus for both Burger Disco Club and Ghost Sake Bar, curated by Greek MasterChef alum Chris Glossidis, whose culinary vision blends Greek tradition with Asian influences. Opening hours have been extended, with kitchens and listening bars now welcoming guests daily from 6 p.m., creating a space where visitors can ease into the night and dance into the early hours.

Built on the impeccable reputation of Cariocas Beach Bar, Burger Disco Club merges curated cuisine, signature cocktails, and world-class underground music. The venue’s debut season featured performances from talents including Luke Una, Felix Dickinson, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Chez Damier, Carl Craig, Prins Thomas, and Roman Flügel, solidifying its role as a key player in Athens’ nightlife.

Both Cariocas and Burger Disco Club are part of the Papageorge legacy, established in 1981 by brothers Panos and Petros Papaeleftheriou. From a New York-style café to a pioneering nightclub, Papageorge venues have consistently reshaped the city’s nightlife, introducing innovations such as the first Technics MK2 DJ booth in Athens and championing American burger culture. Cariocas Beach Bar, founded in 1998, remains a cornerstone of the house and disco scene, built on values of inclusivity, community, and impeccable sound.

With over four decades of expertise in hospitality and music, Burger Disco Club now carries that legacy forward. Offering a sensory journey through taste, sound, and atmosphere, it has become a destination for both international artists and discerning regional talent. Visitors to Athens will find an unparalleled experience where eats and beats converge in a space that celebrates underground culture while honoring its storied roots.
