It’s about that time of year when you need to start getting your Bonnaroo crew ready! In June, over 80,000 music fans are to descend on the legendary yearly festival in Manchester, Tennessee. This year, Bonnaroo will occur from June 13th-16th and that lineup should be putting some fear in some other legendary festivals with far weaker lineups (looking at you Electric Forest)!
Bonnaroo has a place in American festival lore unsurpassed by any, with the exception of Woodstock and debatably Coachella, but we won’t be getting into that can of worms today. Tickets go on sale Thursday, January 10, 2019, so don’t sleep on it or you may miss your chance! This lineup is sure to move tickets quickly.
Electronic music seems to have been featured even more prominently than last year, with an absolutely stellar assembly including Griz, Gramatik, Illenium, Odesza, RL Grime, and Zhu. Those of us (like me) that are excited about more underground acts such as Eprom, Mersiv, Liquid Stranger, and Space Jesus, will be thrilled with this lineup. Wakaan fans can also look forward to Eprom b2b Space Jesus b2b Shlump.
Fans of other genres should not, however, be disappointed by any means. Jam heads can look forward to three Phish sets and those of us with roots in metal music will be excited to catch French titans of industrial metal Gojira at an American festival. Also, if anyone reading this cares about Top 40 music in the slightest, look out for Cardi B and Post Malone bringing their almost convincing lip syncing performances to Manchester.
Whatever your specific tastes are, Bonnaroo has it. See you on the farm Roo crews!!!
