Body Meat, the innovative project by Chris Taylor, has released a new live session video featuring three standout tracks from his debut album, Starchris. Directed by Daniel Brennan, the visual session, titled “Body Meat – Live,” presents live renditions of “Focus,” “Electrische,” and “Crystalize,” providing fans a deeper immersion into the frenetic energy of Starchris. Taylor is joined by drummer Grant Chapman, creating a powerful two-man setup that previews the intensity fans can expect on his upcoming headlining tour, kicking off November 12th in Montreal, with support from Anysia Kym and DORIS.
Starchris has garnered widespread acclaim, with Pitchfork awarding it “Best New Music” and lauding Taylor’s unique blend of sleek pop and intricate engineering. The album, compared by Pitchfork to the craftsmanship of a “club-hopper” with the obsessive production of a late-night studio engineer, has also been celebrated by Resident Advisor, SPIN, The FADER, FLOOD, and The Creative Independent. Inspired by Taylor’s love for crafting video games, Starchris layers high-energy beats with spontaneous moments, creating a sonic journey that redefines the limits of pop music.
