Halifax-based producer and vocalist Bishu makes his return to NIGHTMODE with “DOOMSCROLL,” a sharp-edged indie electronic single featuring British artist PROP, out January 16. Equal parts self-aware satire and anthemic release, the track captures the chaos of chasing relevance in the algorithm-driven era—turning the anxiety of the modern music grind into a high-gloss pop explosion.
Built on fuzzy guitars, distorted basslines, and a rolling drum groove, “DOOMSCROLL” fuses Bishu’s dynamic, genre-fluid production with PROP’s raw, Britpop-inflected delivery. The verses simmer with restless tension, hovering between exhaustion and defiance, before detonating into a glittering hyperpop drop that skewers the illusion of fame and momentum. PROP’s frenzied topline mirrors the endless scroll of feeds and metrics that define creative life today, masking panic beneath charm, bravado, and hooks designed to stick.
For Bishu, the track taps into a familiar pressure point—the constant balancing act between art, visibility, and self-worth in an industry obsessed with output and growth. Originally written for his own vocals, the song evolved once he handed it to PROP, whose distinctly British tone helped reshape its identity. The result is a collaboration rooted in friendship, spontaneity, and cultural contrast, giving the record both bite and authenticity.
“DOOMSCROLL” follows Bishu’s recent NIGHTMODE release “WHAT YOU RUNNING FROM,” which earned coverage from UKF, Alfitude, Vibeverse, Fresh Music Freaks, Find Your Sounds, and Frontview Magazine. It also arrives after “Do or Die,” his 2024 collaboration with PROP, continuing a creative dialogue between two artists who thrive on unfiltered emotion and instinctive songwriting.
Beyond recorded music, Bishu has become one of the most influential creators on Twitch, ranking within the platform’s top 0.1% of streamers. Broadcasting live three times a week to a global audience, he blends production, improvisation, and humor into performances that blur the line between studio session and community hangout. Over the past year, he’s collaborated with Ludwig, T-Pain, and Eliminate, while partnering with Epic Games (Rocket League), Riot Games (Valorant), Bethesda (The Elder Scrolls Online), and Red Bull Gaming (Tetris Remix), reinforcing his reputation as one of electronic music’s most adaptive and forward-thinking creatives.
That same spirit fuels “DOOMSCROLL”—a playful yet pointed anthem for the overstimulated age. It’s Bishu at his sharpest, confronting digital burnout and creative anxiety with wit, style, and a sound engineered to cut through the noise rather than disappear into it.
“I originally made this for my own vocals, but felt it had such a British style to it,” Bishu shares. “PROP killed it—he’s a good friend of mine. The tune came together really naturally after that.”
“We all go through it,” adds PROP. “You just have to remember the art comes first over everything.”
Bishu’s new single “DOOMSCROLL” featuring PROP is available now on all platforms via NIGHTMODE.
