Big Wild—the boundary-pushing project of producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Jackson Stell—has returned with a vibrant new single, “Universe,” featuring longtime collaborator iDA HAWK. A euphoric dance anthem brimming with warmth and optimism, the track continues Stell’s exploration of human connection and self-discovery, themes that have defined his most recent work.
Infused with live instrumentation, kaleidoscopic textures, and HAWK’s radiant vocals, “Universe” offers a cosmic message of unity and inner truth. “The release of ‘Universe’ synchronistically aligns with 10 years of collaboration and friendship with Jackson—and I think the depth of our shared creative expression shines on this song,” shares iDA HAWK. “During the writing process, it was meaningful to explore universal themes, including the idea that we are all interconnected: when you find your own soul, you find us all.”
“Universe” marks the third single from Big Wild this year, following the propulsive “Love Any Longer” and the cinematic “You Belong Here”, which collectively signal a bold artistic evolution since his 2022 album The Efferusphere. Embracing elements of indie pop, psychedelic rock, and ’60s-era color, Stell has broken free from strict genre confines, reclaiming the curiosity and joy at the heart of his creative process.
To support this exciting new chapter, Big Wild will hit the road this fall for his Wild Child Tour, kicking off September 4 at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, TN. The tour will include major stops at Mission Ballroom in Denver (September 27), The Wiltern in Los Angeles (October 4), and concludes October 11 in Troutdale, OR. A $1 donation from every ticket sold will support Ethos Music Center, a Portland nonprofit that brings music education to underserved communities throughout Oregon.
Before the tour, Big Wild will make a special appearance at Indy Pride WORD OF MOUTH on June 15 in Indianapolis, IN.
