Bass Phenom Jon Casey Unleashes ‘Gimme’

by Press Release

Jon Casey, a formidable presence in the South African music scene, has been making waves across various bass genres, from trap to deep dubstep, drum & bass, halftime, breaks, and beyond. His debut single on Bassrush Records, “Gimme,” pushes boundaries with its 140 dubstep anthem.

Blurring the line between raw grit and irresistible hooks, “Gimme” emerges as an anthemic 140 banger. Its heart-pounding basslines kick things off, complemented by crisp claps and subtle chants, setting the scene for the underground fervor. Anchored by an incessant vocal loop exuding a catchy swagger, the track captivates with its accessibility and enduring appeal. Industrial elements add depth to the sonic landscape before diving into soul-shaking drops, featuring warbling leads, pulsating sub-bass, sharp accents, and chirping tones. Tension-building breakdowns and intricate breakbeat fills heighten the impact of the massive drops, ensuring “Gimme” remains a formidable weapon igniting DJ sets and playlists alike.

Jon Casey explains the inspiration behind “Gimme”: “I wanted to create a dancefloor mover that’s straightforward yet captivating, experimenting with vocals to achieve something universally appealing.”

This track marks Jon Casey’s second release with Bassrush, following his remix of “MASHUP” on REAPER’s ‘DISRUPTOR (Remixes)’ album.

As one of the most sought-after figures in bass music, Jon Casey seamlessly blends trap, drum & bass, 140 dubstep, electronica, and more into his distinct sound. With an impressive array of originals and remixes for renowned artists like Noisia, Nitepunk, and Deathpact, along with collaborations with NGHTMRE, Imanu, TroyBoi, and others, Jon Casey’s influence continues to grow. He’s slated to perform at festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, Paradise Blue, North Coast Music Festival, and Ubbi Dubbi, following his support for Subtronics on the ‘Tesseract’ Tour earlier in the year. This was succeeded by the ‘Collision’ EP with Pauline Herr, accompanied by a headline tour across the West Coast.

With its boundless energy, dark allure, and irresistible appeal, “Gimme” establishes Jon Casey as a trailblazer in the realm of 140 dubstep anthems in 2024.
