Astral Plane: Total Eclipse Festival will debut this summer in the mountains of Segovia, Spain, aligning its inaugural edition with the rare August 12, 2026 Total Solar Eclipse. Set just one hour from Madrid at La Pinilla Mountain Resort in the Sierra Ayllón Mountain Range, the festival has been strategically positioned to offer one of the best vantage points in Europe for the celestial event.
At the heart of the experience is The Eclipse Set, a once-in-a-lifetime performance timed precisely with the moment of totality. Taking charge of this historic set is Kevin Saunderson, one of Detroit techno’s founding fathers, who will deliver a specially curated four-hour performance as the eclipse unfolds behind him. Designed to transform the astronomical phenomenon into a transcendent cultural moment, the set stands as the festival’s defining centerpiece.
Beyond the eclipse itself, the lineup spans the full spectrum of global house and techno. Ellen Allien, DJ Stingray 313, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Lilly Palmer, Gerd Janson, Mano Le Tough, Nicole Moudaber, and Ferreck Dawn lead a bill that also includes Or:la, Dense & Pika, Eli Escobar, Jen Cardini, Eris Drew, and Marie Madeleine. Representing Spain, Coyu joins the lineup alongside international talent such as Salome, Riria, Black Loops, and collective Toy Tonics, with rising names including Ammara, Urumi, DJ Fuckoff, Anso, Deceit, Dr Dak, Hermetica, Jose Pushmann, Riviani, and Santi completing the program.
The festival will unfold across three distinct stages. The Eclipse Stage will host the largest acts and the headline eclipse performance, while The Mountaintop Stage offers a scenic experience atop a plateau overlooking the Sierra Ayllón, accessible by ski lift or hiking. Meanwhile, The Starship Stage will spotlight emerging artists, creating a platform for the next wave of underground talent.
Daytime programming will extend beyond music, with planned talks and workshops exploring the scientific and cultural significance of the eclipse. The 2026 Total Solar Eclipse will be the first to cross Europe this century, transforming daylight into darkness and revealing the sun’s corona in a rare and dramatic display. With an estimated 80% chance of clear skies, La Pinilla Mountain Resort offers ideal conditions, alongside the infrastructure to host up to 10,000 attendees across three days.
Accommodation options include onsite camping and glamping, as well as nearby stays in Riaza and surrounding areas. Attendees can also base themselves in Madrid, with transport links including buses to Riaza and shuttle services to the festival grounds.

Looking ahead, Astral Plane is envisioned as a roaming concept, following future eclipses across the globe, with planned editions in 2027 across Southern Spain, North Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula, and in 2028 over Australia.
Sustainability is also central to the festival’s ethos. Through its “one ticket, one tree” initiative, every ticket sold contributes to reforestation efforts in La Pinilla and surrounding nature reserves, ensuring the event gives back to the landscape that makes it possible.
Tickets start from €165 and are available now, marking the beginning of a new kind of festival experience—where music, nature, and a rare cosmic event collide.
