ASHRR Unveils New Remix EP for “Please Don’t Stop The Rain” Featuring Ron Trent

by Press Release

Los Angeles electronic soul trio ASHRR returns with a new remix EP for “Please Don’t Stop The Rain,” a standout track from their 2023 album Sunshine Low. Out now via 20/20 Vision, the release features an expertly crafted remix by New York-via-Chicago house legend Ron Trent, alongside two ASHRR Soundsystem reworks designed for the dancefloor.

Ron Trent Reimagines “Please Don’t Stop The Rain”

A pivotal figure in house music for over three decades, Ron Trent emerged from Chicago’s underground scene in the late ‘80s with his seminal track “Altered States.” As the co-founder of Prescription Records alongside Chez Damier, he helped define deep house with genre-blurring productions infused with jazz, soul, and Afro-Latin rhythms. Known for shaping dancefloors worldwide, from New York to Tokyo, Trent brings his signature touch to ASHRR’s hypnotic original, elevating it into a mesmerizing club experience.

ASHRR’s Distinctive Blend of Electronic Soul

Comprised of vocalist Steven Davis and producer-musicians Ethan Allen and Josh Charles, ASHRR fuses elements of post-punk, space disco, and indie dance, crafting a sound that feels like “Roxy Music jamming with ESG in Central Park on a sunny Sunday.” Their music has earned praise from NPR, KCRW, and more, with their 2024 album Sunshine Low and 2019 debut Oscillator further cementing their reputation in the electronic soul scene.

Known for working with dub pioneer Scientist and UK DJ Felix Dickinson, ASHRR continues to push sonic boundaries with their remix EP, offering fresh, dance-driven interpretations of “Please Don’t Stop The Rain.”

The remix EP is out now via 20/20 Vision, available on all streaming platforms.
