Arky Waters Unleashes High-Intensity Club Weapon “Run It Up”

Following a prolific run of singles building anticipation for his forthcoming debut album, Australian producer and DJ Arky Waters returns with his most commanding club release to date, “Run It Up.”

Further cementing his position within the global bass music landscape, “Run It Up” dives headfirst into darker, high-velocity sonic territory. The track unfolds as a tightly controlled study in tension and release, fusing the raw physical impact of the 140 and bass spectrum with the intricate, detail-oriented sound design that has defined Arky Waters’ recent output.

Built specifically as a high-energy turning point within his DJ sets, “Run It Up” is anchored by a striking rhythmic duality — combining a driving four-on-the-floor pulse with a weighty half-time groove. This contrast gives the track a volatile, unpredictable energy designed to shift dancefloors into overdrive.

At the core of the record is its aggressive, evolving bassline, created using a software emulation of the classic Moog analogue synthesizer. By leaning into the instability and organic unpredictability of analog-style synthesis, Arky Waters crafts a lead that feels constantly in motion — opening, distorting, and expanding in ways that give the track a living, breathing intensity.

“I wanted something dark and gritty to cut into my sets,” Arky Waters explains. “The main bass lead is made with a software copy of a classic Moog analogue synth; I think it provides so much warmth and character. It’s super unpredictable and hard to control, so you end up with these really cool moments where the filter opens up and it really seems to take over the whole track. Was so much fun to make!”

“Run It Up” also arrives as a key piece of the puzzle in Arky Waters’ upcoming debut full-length project. Over recent months, the Sydney-based artist has steadily teased the album through a series of releases showcasing a wide-ranging sonic palette — moving fluidly between breakbeat, tech-house, and now this more uncompromising bass-driven direction.

Drawing subtle parallels to the industrial weight and forward-thinking textures of artists like Bicep and Overmono, Arky Waters continues to refine a sound that feels both globally informed and distinctly grounded. His production carries the influence of UK club culture while filtering it through a uniquely Australian perspective, shaped by his “suburban Australia” roots and independent creative approach.

It’s this blend of precision, raw energy, and cultural perspective that continues to set Arky Waters apart as one of the most compelling emerging names within Australia’s electronic music scene — and “Run It Up” only sharpens that trajectory ahead of his debut album reveal.
