Arima Ederra Releases Sophomore Album A Rush To Nowhere

LA-based singer-songwriter Arima Ederra unveils her highly anticipated sophomore album, A Rush To Nowhere, via Arima’s Lab/RCA Records. Building on the success of her 2022 debut An Orange Colored Day, the new album explores time as a spiraling, non-linear journey, merging past, present, and future into a deeply personal and reflective body of work.

Arima introduced this chapter with early singles including “Heard What You Said”, “First Time”, and “You’re My”, the latter performed in a medley with album track “Air and Everywhere” during a visually stunning live performance directed by Neema Sadeghi at LA’s Union Station. These releases established the album’s visual and sonic identity, a subdued yet radiant reflection on memory, love, and self-discovery.

Written largely while traveling away from LA, A Rush To Nowhere captures moments of meditation and introspection, collapsing journal entries, memories, and hopeful declarations into a cohesive narrative. Executive producer Teo Halm (SZA, Rosalía, Omar Apollo) collaborated closely with Arima, with additional production from Caleb Laven (Vince Staples, Childish Gambino), Solomonphonic (Lola Young, Dominic Fike, Remi Wolf), and Rahm Silverglade (serpentwithfeet, Snoh Alaegra, Deb Never). The album blends soul, R&B, pop, and folk, serving as a vessel for Arima’s intimate songwriting and signature honeyed vocals.

Reflecting on the album, Arima writes:
“Time isn’t just what moves us forward, but what allows us to return, to remember, to become. Music has a way of stopping time especially when I need it most, creating sanctuary in a world that never slows. In that suspended moment is where I find myself most clearly. Writing this work revealed the many versions of me across time—the multitudes I hold.”

Four years in the making, A Rush To Nowhere follows a period of artistic exploration, including one-off releases like “Oh God” featuring Mereba and “Really Tired”, as well as tours alongside Ravyn Lenae. The album solidifies Arima as a thoughtful and boundary-pushing songwriter whose work interrogates mortality, family, love, and the passage of time, all with a sense of curiosity and wonder.
