Ariana Grande is deepening her commitment to mental health advocacy with the launch of the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation, a new philanthropic initiative dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities through direct funding, protection, and access to essential resources.

Launched on June 12, the foundation has named Backline as a grantee through its Heal & Dream Fund, helping expand access to mental health care and community support for music industry professionals and beyond.

At its launch, the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation is focused on three key areas: protecting transgender and LGBTQ+ rights, increasing access to mental health care, and providing compassionate assistance during times of crisis.

Announcing the initiative, Grande shared her vision for the foundation:

“I am beyond excited to finally announce the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation.

Our mission is to support, protect, and provide resources for our vulnerable friends in need. Through four different funds, we will be supporting handfuls of incredible organizations that provide the safe space and care that is desperately needed by so many right now. It has been my privilege to be able to support these causes on my own over the years, and I’m grateful to now be able to expand that reach and amplify the life-saving work that these organizations do through the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation.”

As part of the partnership, Backline will use funding from the Heal & Dream Fund to strengthen its mental health services for artists, touring professionals, crew members, and their families.

Hilary Gleason, Backline’s co-founder and Executive Director, emphasized the impact of the collaboration.

“Backline delivers essential mental health and wellness resources to music industry professionals, ensuring the people behind the music receive the compassionate, affordable care they deserve. Through Brighter Days Ahead Foundation’s partnership, we’re able to provide for the music industry’s needs in a more sustainable way, including B-LINE, a 24/7 mental health and crisis support line created exclusively for the music industry, and through direct tour support.”

The partnership has already made a tangible difference on the road. During Ariana Grande’s sold-out Eternal Sunshine Tour performances at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, Backline distributed 200 hand-packed wellness bags to crew members working behind the scenes. Each tote included carefully selected wellness products designed to reduce stress, promote self-care, and support mental well-being for touring professionals.

Beyond the wellness kits, crew members also received access to therapy grants through Music’s Mental Health Fund, made possible by the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation. The initiative ensures that the often-overlooked professionals behind live productions have access to meaningful mental health support both during tours and between performances.

Reflecting on the organization’s ongoing work with touring artists, Gleason added:

“During a run of sold out shows, Backline was there for Ariana’s band and crew, and our round-the-clock services are here for all artists, their crews and their families as we strive for a safer and healthier music industry.”

Backline Care Package

Although the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation officially launched in June, its support for mental health initiatives began well before its public debut. The organization quietly served as an early financial contributor to the creation of B-LINE, Backline’s dedicated 24/7 mental health and crisis support line for music industry professionals and their families.

Since launching, B-LINE has already supported more than 400 individuals seeking help—an early indicator of both the growing demand for mental health resources within the music industry and the importance of expanding access to care.

By combining direct financial support with practical mental health services, the partnership between the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation and Backline represents a significant step toward improving wellness across the music industry. As the foundation continues to grow, its investment in organizations providing life-changing care reinforces Ariana Grande’s long-standing commitment to creating safer, healthier, and more supportive communities for those who need them most.
