As the release of his debut album Dream Sequence approaches, rising Chicago electronic music artist Alex Kislov unveils his latest single, “Time Stops”. Blurring the lines between deep, melodic, and progressive house, the track offers a glimpse into the highly anticipated album’s sonic landscape.
Known for his unique blend of deep house, techno, and experimental rhythms, Kislov has solidified his place in Chicago’s electronic music scene. His sound has earned him gigs at iconic venues such as Radius, Spybar, and The Mid, while tracks like “This Is the Way” and “Want to Feel” have gained radio play and coverage from leading music blogs. Recently, he delivered a career-defining performance at the EVOL AFTERS Electric Forest afterparty and multiple sets at Burning Man 2024.
“Time Stops” exemplifies the high-quality production expected from Dream Sequence. With stunning synth lines and slick, punchy beats, the track pairs its deep emotional vibe with a nostalgic spoken-word vocal, reminiscent of the golden age of progressive house. The song’s layered production brings an evocative depth that fans of melodic and progressive genres will appreciate.
Accompanying the single is a music video produced by MAA Films, marking Kislov’s third collaboration with the production company. Speaking about the partnership, Kislov shared:
“This will mark our third project of cinematic musical creation, and produced by the incredibly talented MAA Films. From Shining in 2020, Want to Feel in 2022, and now Time Stops in 2024, I simply cannot imagine anyone else I’d ever want to work on these with. Marcus has a beautiful way of bringing symbolic meaning to life in an artistic way, and always incorporates ideas from everyone involved. Big thank you to the entire crew and team!”
The lead single from Dream Sequence, titled “Daydream,” was released earlier this year and featured vocals from the legendary Ron Carroll. The album’s title track followed, showcasing a beautifully melodic house sound with emotionally charged vocals from UK singer-songwriter Leo Wood, further highlighting Kislov’s nuanced production style.
More details about the full Dream Sequence album release will be revealed in the coming weeks, as Kislov continues to carve his name into the global electronic music scene with his distinct and innovative sound.
