GRAMMY-nominated founders of Anjunabeats, Jono, Paavo, and Tony—collectively known as Above & Beyond—have released the highly anticipated Tranquility Base Vol. 2 EP. The project arrives during a whirlwind year of worldwide shows across Brazil, Canada, the UK, and the US, where the trio also debuted the EP at iconic events like Group Therapy 600 in Mexico City, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Dreamstate SoCal.
Named after their revered alias Tranquility Base, the series pays homage to the group’s legacy in shaping the trance genre, with classics like Surrender, Oceanic, and Razorfish. Following the success of Volume 1, which saw singles Angry JP8 and 500 soar to the top of Beatport’s Trance charts, Volume 2 continues the legacy with five electrifying instrumental tracks.
The EP opens with React, a bassline-driven anthem released on November 1, followed by Another Breakdown, a euphoric nod to classic trance unveiled on November 20. Fans can also immerse themselves in tracks like Hackney Siren, a fusion of trance, acid, breakbeat, and 90s piano house, and From Grey To Light, an experimental blend of trippy acid basslines and rich piano layers. Closing the collection is Chasing Highs, a nostalgic throwback to the early 2000s club scene.
Tranquility Base Vol. 2 is available now on Anjunabeats, and fans can commemorate the release with a limited edition Tranquility Base t-shirt from the Anjuna merch store.
