Get ready Anjunafam, Above & Beyond just announced another acoustic tour and album are coming our way this summer! The anticipation has been building since yesterday when a cryptic message was sent out over socials hinting at another acoustic performance. The interwebs have been abuzz with chatter, on when and where this show would happen.
As if we weren’t already wound up, they released the acoustic version of ‘Flying by Candlelight’. They give the track a jazzy and timeless feel. It’s beautifully composed of underlying strings and soul-touching vocal delivery. I absolutely can not wait for the future acoustic releases and we won’t have to wait long, ‘Acoustic III’ is slated for release this summer on Anjunabeats.
‘Acoustic III’ will feature new arrangements of some of their biggest hits. Bob Bradley, the musical director, and producer for their other acoustic projects has been enlisted to arrange and co-produce the new release. Fans can expect a little change in the formatting of ‘Acoustic III”, with the release being more uptempo with funky grooves.
“We’ve had some fun with the songs this time. It’s a little more Quincy Jones and a little less orchestral, with some really intimate moments.”
Bob Bradly
The UK and North American tour will have Above & Beyond performing at some of the most prominent concert venues including London’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Radio City Music Hall, The Kennedy Centre in Washington DC, plus the Greek Theatres in Los Angeles and Berkeley. The tour culminates with a special performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 1, accompanied by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to Above and Beyond and their extensive band, they are also taking some of their new and longtime collaborators on the road with them to assist with vocals; Marty Longstaff, Justine Suissa, Zoë Johnston, and Sam Burger. The anticipation for the new tour is intense and has the Anjunafamily in a frenzy.
The first acoustic project, titled ‘Acoustic‘ was revealed in 2013 and ‘Acoustic II’ sold-out concert halls in the UK, Australia, and California in 2016. The 2016 show was later featured in a full-length documentary ‘Giving up your Day Job’. Fans have been hoping for another acoustic performance for years and our prayers have been answered!
This tour will truly be one to remember. You can sign up for presales now and the presale tickets will be available on February 10th at 10 A.M. You can also preorder your copy of ‘Acoustic III’ today.
