The much-anticipated release of Above & Beyond’s “Flow State” has finally arrived. After the three-track EP precursor was revealed on World Yoga Day, Above & Beyond fans have been longing for the full album. Let’s just say it was worth the wait.
“Flow State” is a 49-minute spiritual journey into exquisite ambient melodies. The release just puts you in a relaxed state of mind where you are overcome with pure elation. This mix makes me think of a sunrise over the ocean or seeing the sun just peeking up over a canyon, nature at its best. The music blends perfectly to form a smooth soul-touching masterpiece. “Sun In Your Eyes” has always been one of my favorites and to hear it recreated so beautifully for this album was just magical.
“Our music has always been about getting in touch with, and understanding and accepting our emotions. After those amazing yoga sets, we realized that there is a bigger place for this more reflective music within our little universe. With the Flow State project, we want to help bring people’s attention and focus towards helping themselves find better mental fitness and overall happiness in life. Through raised awareness, being more present, one can reach a state of flow: a creative and free state of mind where time, fear and stress dissipate.”

The album launch took place in New York City for a gorgeous rooftop yoga session with renowned yogi Elena Brower. This was just the beginning of an ongoing summer of album listening parties in partnership with Daybreaker. Eight lucky cities around the world will have an opportunity to enjoy this release to their morning yoga. Above & Beyond will also be hosting festival yoga sets with Elena Brower at Wanderlust SoCal and the ABGT Weekender at The Gorge.
I simply cannot wait to experience this album live on Sunday at the ABGT Weekender. I missed the yoga set at ABGT250 and have regretted it ever since. To be able to share this spiritual, meditative event with my Anjunafamily will be an experience like no other.
