After years of exploring the outer edges of melodic dance music, Jason Ross returns with his most introspective project to date. Released via Lost In Dreams Records, True North is a ten-track album rooted in self-discovery, emotional honesty, and the enduring creative spark that first inspired him to make music.

More than a collection of songs, True North serves as a personal statement from an artist reconnecting with his core identity. Built around the idea of following an internal compass rather than chasing trends, the album reflects a period of deep reflection and creative realignment. Its title captures the record’s central theme: trusting the instinct that guides us back to what feels authentic, even when the path forward is uncertain.

“This album is the most personal body of work I’ve made,” Ross explains. “’Crash’ was the first song I wrote when starting it, and it came from a place of looking inward and reconnecting with why I fell in love with making music in the first place. Bringing that feeling to life through visuals has been just as fulfilling. It’s the first time I’ve truly felt connected to the stories I’m telling, both sonically and visually.”

That emotional journey unfolds through a diverse collection of collaborations that showcase the full spectrum of Ross’ sound. Opening track “Mirage” pairs him with William Black and vocalist Oaks, setting a reflective tone that carries throughout the project. “Ultra Love,” featuring KSHMR and Brieanna Grace, injects festival-sized energy while maintaining the melodic depth that has become Ross’ signature.

At the center of the album sits “Crash,” a powerful collaboration with Dutch vocalist Lin Was Here. Built around delicate piano melodies, muted guitar textures, and soaring melodic bass drops, the track explores the pivotal moment when remaining stagnant is no longer an option. The single has already surpassed 181,000 streams while earning support from outlets including EDM Tunes, EDM Sauce, Fresh Music Freaks, and Find Your Sounds.

Elsewhere, tracks like “Heaven” and “Back to Life,” featuring babyidontlikeyou, lean into vulnerability and emotional depth, while “Let Go” with TW3LVE and “On My Own” featuring Jillian Rossi expand the album’s dynamic range. The journey concludes with the title track, “True North,” a cinematic solo production that distills the album’s themes into a stirring and atmospheric finale.

Supporting the release is an ambitious visual campaign featuring dedicated cinematic vignettes for each single and a three-part documentary series exploring the personal and creative process behind the album. Blending abstract storytelling with real-life footage, the visuals further reinforce Ross’ commitment to creating a cohesive artistic narrative where music and personal experience exist as one.

Known for seamlessly blending progressive house, trance, melodic bass, and future bass, Jason Ross has built a career defined by both technical craftsmanship and emotional resonance. That balance continues to translate to the stage, with recent appearances aboard Groove Cruise and tour support for Seven Lions on the Asleep In The Garden Of Infernal Stars tour, including performances at Radius and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

With True North, Jason Ross delivers his most personal and fully realized work yet—an album that looks inward while reminding listeners that growth often begins by returning to the things that matter most.

True North is available now via Lost In Dreams Records.
