Miami-based production duo SLAMM team up with Peruvian-born, Phoenix-based producer Gio Lucca for their new single “The Prayer,” out now via Insomniac Records. The release marks a dynamic meeting point between three classically informed musicians working at the intersection of indie dance, electro, and minimal tech.
Built for the club but steeped in retro influence, “The Prayer” channels electroclash and synthpop aesthetics through a modern lens. The track pairs pious, female-led vocal phrasing with tongue-in-cheek lyrical reinterpretations of religious language, flipping devotional imagery into something celebratory and dancefloor-driven. Underneath, vintage syncopated basslines, Italo disco-inspired rhythm structures, and tightly programmed drum machine grooves create a hypnotic foundation, while shimmering synth modulation and arpeggiated layers push the record into a cinematic late-night space.
Speaking on the collaboration, SLAMM shared, “We knew when we made this one with Gio that it was something special. Releasing this with Insomniac really made the entire project come together nicely.” Gio Lucca added, “I’ve always loved that classic synth pop and LinnDrum-style sounds. This record really came from our shared love of retro electronic music and darker club records.”
For SLAMM, the release continues a fast-rising trajectory that has included a Times Square billboard feature via SoundCloud for “Numb to the Flash” on IN / ROTATION, as well as releases on PNK Records, Chaste, and their own imprint impakt. Supported by major tastemakers including Skrillex, Michael Bibi, and Mau P, the duo have also made standout live appearances at Factory Town, Club Space, and EDC Las Vegas, solidifying their position as emerging leaders in the underground-leaning club circuit.

Meanwhile, Gio Lucca continues his rise as one of electronic music’s most versatile new voices, with releases spanning Insomniac, Black Book, Nervous, and his own ISO Records. His genre-fluid approach—blending tech house, minimal, and funk-driven grooves—has earned support from artists like Michael Bibi, Jamie Jones, and Marco Carola, along with radio backing from Diplo and John Summit.
With “The Prayer,” SLAMM and Gio Lucca deliver a refined, nostalgia-laced club record that bridges eras while firmly aimed at the modern dancefloor.
