Diaspora Calling! will make its highly anticipated UK debut on Friday, August 7, 2026, with a landmark open-air event at Milton Keynes National Bowl. Headlining the inaugural edition is the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill, marking her only confirmed UK performance of 2026. She will be joined by Wyclef Jean, YG Marley, and Zion Marley, with additional artists across two stages set to be announced in the coming months.
Originally launched in 2016, Diaspora Calling! was conceived by Ms. Lauryn Hill as a multidisciplinary music and art initiative celebrating the culture, creativity, and shared histories of the African diaspora. The project first took shape at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, where Hill curated a gallery spotlighting Haitian art alongside a live performance program. It later evolved into a touring platform, featuring artists such as Nas, Kehlani, Noname, and Little Simz, all unified by themes of cultural exchange, resilience, and community.
A defining voice across hip-hop, soul, and R&B, Ms. Lauryn Hill remains one of the most influential artists of her generation. Rising to prominence with Fugees, she later released her groundbreaking solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, earning five Grammy Awards and cementing her legacy through a genre-defying sound rooted in identity, spirituality, and social consciousness.
Joining her is Wyclef Jean, fellow Grammy winner and founding member of Fugees, whose music bridges hip-hop with Caribbean and global influences. Representing the next generation, YG Marley brings conscious lyricism shaped by reggae traditions, while Zion Marley continues the iconic Marley lineage with a modern blend of reggae, soul, and hip-hop. Together, the lineup reflects the core ethos of Diaspora Calling!—connecting generations through shared cultural expression.

The 2026 UK edition brings this vision to one of the country’s most iconic large-scale venues. Milton Keynes National Bowl offers a fitting backdrop, known for hosting major concerts with high-spec production and expansive open-air capacity. Alongside the music, a curated food village featuring a diverse range of vendors will further enhance the experience, creating a full cultural celebration.
With its UK debut, Diaspora Calling! expands its global footprint while staying rooted in its original mission—amplifying voices, honoring heritage, and bringing communities together through music and art.
