Veteran electronic producer Tiga returns with “FRICTION,” a new single released March 13 that offers a more contemplative take on his signature club sound. Departing from the quick-fire hooks often associated with his work, the track leans into a slower, groove-driven atmosphere as Tiga reflects on the pressures and tension of modern life.
Built around the mantra-like line “Too much friction, too much tension… I need some of your attention,” the track captures the collective weight of uncertain times while highlighting dance music’s enduring ability to provide release. For decades, club culture has served as a refuge from everyday stress, and “FRICTION” channels that spirit—balancing introspective themes with a rhythm designed to keep bodies moving on the dancefloor.
Co-written with Jesper Dahlbäck and Priori, with additional production from Patrick Holland, the single continues Tiga’s long-standing ability to merge emotional depth with playful energy. The release follows a run of recent tracks including “ECSTACY SURROUNDS ME,” “SILK SCARF” with Fcukers, and “HOT WIFE” featuring Boys Noize.
“FRICTION” also serves as the final preview of HOTLIFE, Tiga’s first album in a decade. The project is scheduled for release on April 17, 2026 via Turbo Recordings and Secret City Records, and will feature additional appearances from Maara and MRD.
With HOTLIFE, Tiga signals a long-awaited return to the album format, combining his wry perspective with club-ready production in what promises to be a defining moment in his next chapter.
