Denzel Curry and his newly formed collective The Scythe have officially released their debut full-length project Strictly 4 The Scythe, out now via Loma Vista Recordings. The album expands on the group’s previously released singles, including “Mutt That Bih” with Key Nyata featuring 1900Rugrat, “The Scythe” with TiaCorine and FERG, and “Lit Effect” featuring Bktherula and LAZER DIM 700. Production across the project was handled collaboratively by members of the Ultraground and Working On Dying camps.

To mark the album’s release, The Scythe also delivered a live performance on On The Radar, performing “Mutt That Bih” and “The Scythe.” Later in the day, the group is set to host a special takeover on Apple Music Radio, answering fan questions and sharing behind-the-scenes stories from the making of the album live from Apple’s Los Angeles studio.

The group—comprised of Denzel Curry, Bktherula, TiaCorine, FERG, and Key Nyata—draws on the collective spirit of Curry’s early career while pushing his signature futuristic approach to Southern hip-hop. Strictly 4 The Scythe blends classic regional influences from Memphis, Houston, and Miami with modern production and the distinct styles of each member. The result is a project rooted in gritty Southern rap traditions while spotlighting a new generation of artists.

Speaking about the collective dynamic, Denzel Curry explains:
“The Scythe is a family comprised of some of my close friends and favorite solo artists. We still have our respective solo careers, but when we come together, it’s The Scythe.”

The release marks Curry’s first full project since the 2024 album version of King Of The Mischievous South, a definitive revisiting of the mixtape sound that helped launch his career. That release featured a refreshed tracklist along with five new songs, including “STILL IN THE PAINT” featuring Bktherula and LAZER DIM 700, “HOT ONE” with FERG and TiaCorine, “ULTRA SHXT” featuring Key Nyata, and the standout solo cut “GOT ME GEEKED.”

Beyond launching The Scythe, Denzel Curry has already had a busy start to the year. He recently appeared as a special guest during shows by Fred again.. in New York City, is currently supporting Deftones on their EU/UK tour, and has featured on several new releases including “Hive Mind” with Knocked Loose and “Fake Jeezy” by Maxo Kream alongside JPEGMAFIA.

With Strictly 4 The Scythe, the collective introduces a new collaborative chapter for Curry and his circle—one that pays tribute to Southern hip-hop’s legacy while pushing the sound forward for a new era.
