After more than three decades at the cutting edge of electronic music and digital culture, Sónar has completed the lineup for its 33rd edition, confirming a 2026 programme that reimagines the festival from the ground up while reinforcing its status as one of the most influential events in global dance music. Taking place from 18–20 June at Fira Gran Via, this year’s edition introduces an “all in one” format: three uninterrupted days of music across fully redesigned stages, upgraded production, and a refined curatorial approach that allows each space to breathe with new intensity.

Alongside the musical overhaul, Sónar+D undergoes a significant reboot, relocating to the historic Llotja de Mar in central Barcelona for a focused two-day programme on 18 and 19 June. With a new €25 two-day ticket and an expanded presence across the festival site — including immersive installations and the new SonarHub meeting space — the platform deepens its commitment to the intersection of art, digital creativity and technology.

The reimagined SonarVillage by Estrella Damm becomes the festival’s central open-air stage, operating continuously across all three days. Among the newly confirmed live acts are SBTRKT, returning with new material, and Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers, whose gospel-infused cosmic funk adds warmth under the Barcelona sun. They join previously announced artists including Kelis, Modeselektor, and WhoMadeWho. DJ highlights span from MALUGI b2b Benwal and Carlita to house and disco selectors such as Kilopatrah Jones, LOVEFOXY, and Gerd Janson b2b Marcel Dettmann, reflecting the stage’s wide-reaching, genre-fluid ethos.

At the colossal SonarClub, the scale intensifies. In one of the most anticipated bookings of the year, The Prodigy finally make their Sónar debut, bringing their legendary live show to Spain’s biggest dancefloor. They’re joined by high-impact sets from Dom Dolla, Sara Landry, and previously announced headliners including Skepta, Charlotte de Witte, and Amelie Lens. The programming stretches from hardgroove and modern techno — courtesy of ANNĒ, Sera J, and Daria Kolosova — to hybrid breakbeat and bass explorations.

One of the boldest curatorial statements arrives at SonarCar, where Speedy J takes over the stage for three nights with his boundary-pushing STOOR Live concept. Each fully improvised, hardware-driven session features Speedy J alongside four guest artists in a 360º in-the-round format, delivering unrepeatable performances accompanied by custom live visuals. It marks the first time STOOR has commandeered an entire festival stage for a full weekend.

Meanwhile, SonarHall transforms into a fluid concert-club hybrid. Highlights include Daniel Avery’s expanded live band show, uncompromising performances from YHWH Nailgun and Two Shell, and a groundbreaking AI collaboration from Reinier Zonneveld, whose holographic AV show forms part of the AI & Music powered by S+T+ARTS initiative. A historic moment arrives with the return of industrial pioneers Cabaret Voltaire, while artists like Namasenda, Jameszoo & Niels Bro (ROLROLROL), and 30drop underline Sónar’s commitment to forward-thinking live performance.

Outdoors, SonarPark spotlights global club mutations, from Colombian techno trailblazer PETERBLUE to Argentinian powerhouse TAYHANA, alongside Spain’s new wave of trap and r&b voices including Metrika, GlorySixVain, and Main Costa. The programme reflects contemporary club culture’s hyperlocal energy, stretching from latincore to trance, bass and hybrid pop.

At SonarLab, the focus returns to rave fundamentals and the UK hardcore continuum. Legendary Goldie b2b Doc Scott ft Medic MC represent Metalheadz, joining jungle innovator Nia Archives and bass-forward selectors such as Amaliah b2b Pangaea and Addison Groove, while Saturday’s programme bridges acid, electro and refined techno through artists like FJAAK x Kittin, SALOME, and Wata Igarashi.

Beyond Fira Gran Via, Sónar Week once again extends across the city. Sónar Kids returns to Parc del Fòrum, reinforcing the festival’s family-friendly and educational ambitions, while Sónar District hosts influential parties including Solid Grooves and Joseph Capriati presents Metamorfosi. The OFFSónar programme at Poble Espanyol features global heavyweights such as Rampa & Adam Port, Mau P, Maceo Plex, Adriatique, Mochakk, and elrow, cementing Barcelona’s status as a global epicentre for electronic culture during festival week.

With institutional backing from the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya, Ajuntament de Barcelona, and the European Commission’s S+T+ARTS initiative, and support from partners including Estrella Damm, Sónar 2026 stands as its most ambitious edition to date. Reimagined stages, expanded programming and a renewed citywide footprint signal not just another year, but a full recalibration of what a modern electronic festival can be.

For three days — and far beyond — Barcelona once again becomes the global capital of music, innovation, creativity and technology.
