Portland-based producer FENRA makes a striking debut with his single COFFEE, released October 3, 2025 via 6x Records. Premiering on the respected tastemaker Magnetic Magazine, the track was mastered by Aneek Thapar, whose work includes projects by Rival Consoles and Max Cooper. COFFEE previews his upcoming debut EP Delusional, set for release on November 28, 2025.
Born B Laws in Santa Rosa, California, FENRA now calls Portland, Oregon home. Raised surrounded by art and immersed in church hymns with his grandmother, he taught himself guitar at 14 and explored synths, vocals, and drums in bands touring the US, Europe, and Asia. His music blends a lifetime of experience, drawing inspiration from innovators such as Caribou, Four Tet, Floating Points, Bonobo, and DJ Koze, alongside the minimalist elegance of Philip Glass and the soulful resonance of Gloria Ann Taylor.
COFFEE is an atmospheric journey — a dreamy composition where pitched-down vocals, hammered dulcimer, woozy atmospherics, and weightless pads converge into an ambient-downtempo reverie. Magnetic Magazine describes it as “less a piece of music than an environment,” a space where “time itself seems to bend within the track’s spirals.”
On the track, FENRA shares: “‘COFFEE’ might be my favorite song on Delusional. The hammered dulcimer/pitched vocal combo is not something I had heard before, and I really like the way it turned out.”
