On the heels of his rework of “HowManyDays?” featuring jackzebra and DJ Ess, Swedish producer Woesum returns with a bold statement: a seven-track remix EP of his fourth project, Protected. Released following a 13-date headline tour across Europe and Asia, the project solidifies Woesum’s growing reputation as a boundary-pushing producer whose sound transcends genre and culture.

Protected v2 brings together a collective of electronic innovators, with contributions from Hixxy, Joon Gloom, Eurohead, Kamixlo, Lauren Duffus, and Skin on Skin. Each artist reimagines a track from Protected, creating a diverse sonic palette that spans continents and musical styles. Described by Office Magazine as sounding “like the end of something and the beginning of something else at once”, Protected v2 ventures deeper into harder, experimental techno and trance while retaining the spirit of the original release.

The original Protected saw Woesum revisiting the trance, house, and Eurodance that shaped his youth, blending these influences with his signature cloud-rap and plugg styles. The remix project flips this foundation on its head, amplifying the collaborative ethos and expanding his sound into new, uncharted territory.

Woesum’s trajectory follows a path of relentless innovation. His previous work includes last year’s Paradise Tree EP and his 2021 debut album Blue Summer, both of which garnered critical acclaim and featured collaborations with Bladee, Yung Lean, Oklou, and others. He has been pivotal in projects such as evilgiane’s #HEAVENSGATE vol. 1, Kamixlo’s debut album Cicatriz, and Pretty Sick’s Streetwise.

Initially forging connections through Sweden’s underground rap scene, Woesum became a key collaborator for Drain Gang and Sad Boys, producing for founding members Bladee, Yung Lean, Ecco2k, and Thaiboy Digital. His work on Bladee’s seminal Cold Visions album and Yung Lean’s critically acclaimed 2022 mixtape Stardust cemented his status as a visionary producer, bridging the worlds of rap and electronic music.

With Protected v2, Woesum continues to evolve, offering a collaborative reimagining that connects his distinct sound to a wide spectrum of voices in the global electronic scene.

Protected v2 is available now on all platforms.
