On November 1, 2025, electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre will bring his legendary outdoor concert experience to Registan Square in Samarkand. Presented in collaboration with the Uzbekistan Culture Development Foundation, this once-in-a-lifetime event marks Jarre’s first-ever performance in Uzbekistan, transforming one of the world’s most iconic heritage sites with an immersive fusion of music, light, and architecture. Tickets are available now.
A UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Jarre will perform in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed city of Samarkand, a historic crossroads on the Silk Road celebrated for centuries of cultural and artistic exchange.
The concert coincides with the 43rd UNESCO General Conference, which Samarkand is hosting—marking the first time in four decades the gathering of all member states will take place outside Paris. The timing underscores the city’s rising profile as a global hub for creativity, dialogue, and diplomacy.
“Samarkand has long been a crossroads of cultures. Performing at Registan Square is a unique honour, and I hope this concert reflects the spirit of exchange and creativity the city represents,” said Jean-Michel Jarre.
This landmark concert will open a new chapter in Uzbekistan’s cultural life, highlighting its growing role on the international stage. Throughout his career, Jarre has redefined what live music can be, staging some of the most ambitious outdoor spectacles in history. From the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Eiffel Tower to Beijing’s Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, the Acropolis, and Masada by the Dead Sea, his productions have become synonymous with cultural diplomacy and large-scale innovation. In 1997, he set a world record performing for 3.5 million people in Moscow.
The year 2025 has already been a milestone for Jarre, with a summer tour across Europe that included historic sites like Arena Pula in Croatia, Anfiteatro Degli Scavi in Pompeii, Piazza San Marco in Venice, and Plaza d’Espagna in Seville. September also saw the release of Live in Bratislava—an album and film capturing his breathtaking 2024 performance at the STARMUS Festival with Brian May in Slovakia.
Now, with Registan Square as his next stage, Jarre is set to unite history, heritage, and technology in one of the most ambitious cultural events of 2025.
