Brazilian-born, New York-based artist Laura Pieri takes her story to the next level with Frankie (ON THE DANCEFLOOR), a high-energy reimagining of her acclaimed 2024 EP Frankie. Out now, the release reinvents the original tracks with pulsing, club-ready production while introducing a brand-new single, “Flown Away.” Where Frankie told the story of breaking free and reclaiming identity, Frankie (ON THE DANCEFLOOR) celebrates what comes after—confidence, joy, and liberation.
Fueled by shimmering synths, driving rhythms, and euphoric pop hooks, Pieri transforms vulnerability into empowerment. “Frankie was about rebirth and self-discovery; Frankie (ON THE DANCEFLOOR) is about embodiment—less thinking, more feeling,” she shares. “It reimagines the songs as a constellation of moods, showing different sides of Frankie’s story and letting her release her inhibitions.”
The project was crafted alongside LA-based producer and artist YXSH, a longtime collaborator who helped reshape the tracks into bold new forms. “Remixing requires a little destruction, which was scary at first,” says Pieri. “But once I gave myself permission, it became fun to play with textures and moods that weren’t obvious the first time around.”
Born in São Paulo and now based in New York City, Laura Pieri has been immersed in music for as long as she can remember, carving her own lane in pop over the last several years. Her work has been featured in FLAUNT, Mundane Magazine, and Northern Transmissions, and in 2024 she debuted a short film to accompany the original Frankie EP—further showcasing her multidisciplinary approach to art.
With Frankie (ON THE DANCEFLOOR), Pieri not only redefines her sound but also reaffirms her vision: creating music that exists at the intersection of sound, story, and spectacle, and building a future where empowerment moves to its own rhythm.
