Electronic music producer Daniel Allan has released his highly anticipated 5-track EP, Time Well Spent, out now via Breakaway. The project is a dynamic showcase of Allan’s artistic range, featuring collaborations with Louis The Child, Stresshead, DEEGAN, Port London, Arlo, fkblnde, and NJOMZA.

Time Well Spent is a conceptual body of work that finds Allan reconnecting with his younger self—the high school kid from Kentucky who obsessed over experimental electronic music and dreamed of performing for an audience.

Blending influences from UK Garage to Future Bass, the EP reflects the genres that have shaped his journey while delivering tracks that are both introspective and designed for the dancefloor. At its core, the project underscores a deeply personal message: the creative process itself is always “time well spent,” no matter the outcome.

Time Well Spent is a project about trying to connect more with my younger self,” explains Allan. “This EP is a reminder that regardless of the outcome, the process of writing music and touring it is ‘time well spent.’ Throughout the cover arts I tried to create this additional figure that was basically me from 10 years ago. The project is a reminder to lean into that person rather than running from him.”

The EP’s sonic diversity is on full display from start to finish. Lead single “Better With You” crystallizes Allan’s self-coined Synth Garage sound, while the high-energy “Club Weapon”—a collaboration with Louis The Child and Stresshead—is built for peak-time festival moments.

Elsewhere, “Start to Slip” featuring DEEGAN blends 2-Step and UK Garage (UKG) to capture the feeling of emerging from a mental fog, while “Bet You Didn’t Need” with Arlo and fkblnde bridges the groove of UKG with the euphoric energy of 2016-era Future Bass. Closing the project, the newest single “Believe” serves as both a hopeful finale and a personal statement of growth.

With Time Well Spent, Daniel Allan delivers a multifaceted project that reflects on the past, embraces the present, and looks toward the future, cementing his reputation as one of electronic music’s most innovative rising voices.
