Following in the digital footsteps of icons like Gorillaz and Hatsune Miku, virtual artist DEATHPIXIE is redefining the future of electronic music. With more than 25 independent releases over the past year, she’s already caught the attention of fans seeking the next evolution of dance music. Today, July 11, she unleashes her most compelling work yet—“RAISE YOUR WEAPON”, a bold reinterpretation of deadmau5’s 2010 classic, now available on all major streaming platforms via mau5trap.

This fiery cover marks the first taste of DEATHPIXIE’s forthcoming debut EP on mau5trap, slated for release on October 31, accompanied by immersive live performances. Her take on “Raise Your Weapon”, featuring original vocalist Greta Svabo Bech, transforms the emotive anthem into a cinematic, genre-blurring “requiem” that pulses with dystopian energy and underground attitude.

DEATHPIXIE is a character born from the neon shadows of New Tokyo, the sonic embodiment of a blood-red RX-7 drifting through a post-apocalyptic landscape. Conceived by a team of producers, songwriters, and animators, every beat and visual element is charged with human intensity. Her music fuses phonk, trap, techno, bass house, and dubstep into a raw, high-octane soundscape—a transmission from a broken future that is both surreal and unforgettable.

Earlier this year, DEATHPIXIE gained traction with gritty, fan-favorite covers on SoundCloud, including The White Stripes‘ “7NATIONARMY,” The Prodigy‘s “SMACKMYBITCHUP,” and her own version of “RAISE YOUR WEAPON.” The latter quickly caught the ear of mau5trap, leading to a fast-track signing by label boss deadmau5, setting the stage for a new chapter in the label’s legacy of groundbreaking artists.

Since her emergence in spring 2024, DEATHPIXIE has racked up impressive streaming numbers. Her debut single “HELL GIRL” has earned over 2.35 million Spotify streams and placements on major playlists like Phonk (10M followers), All New Dance, Hype, and Trap Mojito, pushing her to more than 350,000 monthly listeners. She reached #1 on Apple Music’s Drum & Bass chart with “HELL GIRL II” featuring OddKidOut, and has amassed over 10 million views across Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

DEATHPIXIE doesn’t explain. She doesn’t ask for approval. She exists to be unforgettable. With her haunting, hard-hitting music and cryptic presence, she’s not just another artist—she’s a movement.
