French DJ and producer Notre Dame makes a powerful return to his own Paranormal Society imprint with Recollection, a deeply intimate two-track EP that captures the emotional breadth of his cinematic approach to electronic music. Out now, the release marks the Paris-based artist’s most personal work to date and signals a bold step forward for his imprint, which launched earlier this year with the widely acclaimed single “Do For Your Love.”
With Recollection, Notre Dame presents two contrasting yet cohesive sonic narratives. The title track is a euphoric, vintage piano-driven house cut built for the dancefloor, channeling a raw and nostalgic energy reminiscent of the golden era of French Touch. Its counterpart, “Homesick” featuring Shoure, reveals a more introspective side—lush and melodic, it’s a ballad laced with longing and cinematic textures. Together, the two pieces form an emotionally resonant whole, reflective of Notre Dame’s ever-expanding vision.
“This EP reflects a simple intention: to preserve two very different, but honest tracks,” says Notre Dame. “Recollection is built for the dancefloor, with classic house piano and raw energy. Homesick, on the other hand, is a melodic ballad co-written with Shoure, born from a quiet moment of feeling the need to go home. Two tracks, two moods, but the same desire to keep only what felt essential.”
On “Homesick,” Shoure lends emotional depth to the EP’s quieter moment, continuing a growing trend of collaborations that showcase Notre Dame’s talent for blending human sentiment with electronic elements. Their partnership follows Notre Dame’s standout remix of Röyksopp’s “Sordid Affair” and his recent addition to Lenny Kravitz’s Let It Ride remix project.
“We conceived Homesick as a melancholic ode to the sanctuaries of our lives,” adds Shoure. “Despite the passing of time, nothing can diminish the pure, original love we hold for the places where we feel whole, our homes. The places we belong.”
Since founding Paranormal Society in March 2025, Notre Dame has described the label as a “parallel world where music and art intertwine”—a place to share music that exists beyond trend or formula. With releases inspired by French Touch, neoclassical elements, and wide-screen, cinematic compositions, Notre Dame is carving out a distinctive space within electronic music—one that has already earned support from tastemakers like Solomun and Pete Tong.
Recollection arrives during a breakout year for the rising producer. He’s played packed sets at global venues from Tokyo’s Womb to Paris’s Olympia to Miami’s Club Space, all while building a passionate fanbase drawn to his emotive, story-driven sound.
With this latest release, Notre Dame continues to blur the lines between club energy and inner reflection—making music that resonates in both body and spirit. Recollection is more than a record; it’s a reminder that sometimes, the most powerful tracks are the ones that return us to ourselves.
