Today, ASHRR returns under their club-centric alias ASHRR Soundsystem with a mesmerizing new remix of “Sun Song,” the luminous centerpiece of their acclaimed album Sunshine Low. Released as the latest preview of Sunshine Low (ASHRR Soundsystem Versions)—out July 25 via Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision Recordings—this reimagined cut showcases the trio’s evolving artistic duality: introspective songcraft fused with euphoric dancefloor energy.
Where the original “Sun Song” delivered soulful warmth and dreamlike textures, the ASHRR Soundsystem Version dives headfirst into a sun-drenched, Balearic-meets-dub dimension. Psychedelic delays, cosmic disco grooves, and woozy synth lines reshape the track into a hypnotic slow-burner, perfect for golden-hour festival sets or late-night beachside escapism.
The release is part of ASHRR’s ongoing monthly series, with each remix rebuilt from the ground up using new live instrumentation, synth programming, and analog textures that cast the originals in a transformative light. The series culminates in the full LP release this July—timed to align with the trio’s upcoming performance at Love International festival in Croatia.
Formed in Los Angeles in 2018, ASHRR is the brainchild of vocalist Steven Davis, jazz-rooted songwriter/pianist Josh Charles, and Grammy-nominated producer/engineer Ethan Allen. Their music weaves together threads of space disco, indie-dance, post-punk, and electronic soul, earning comparisons to the likes of Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, and The Rapture.
With remix credits from underground icons like Ron Trent, Scientist, and Lovefingers, ASHRR continues to forge a singular path—equally comfortable on vinyl, the airwaves, or the after-hours dancefloor.

Stream “Sun Song (ASHRR Soundsystem Version)” now on all major platforms, and stay tuned for the full Sunshine Low remix album arriving July 25.
