Crafted during his transition from Ableton to Bitwig, “Frame Shift” reflects Jade’s commitment to simplicity, clarity, and a fresh approach to sound design. Departing from his earlier “layered chaos” style, this track delivers a cleaner arrangement, allowing every sound to stand out with purpose.
Inspired by the beat scene of the early 2010s, particularly Sunclef’s 2011 track “Droski,” Jade Cicada infuses “Frame Shift” with his trademark heavy bass and melodic sophistication. It’s a modern take on boom-bap with a danceable, bass-heavy twist, signaling his growth as both an artist and a technical innovator.

“This tune [Frame Shift] was heavily inspired by beat scene type music of the early 2010s. My goal is to make more melodically and harmonically driven boom-bappy bangers like this one.”
