Released today via Armada Music, the track arrives just in time for the festive season, blending nostalgia with a modern twist.
Driven by an idea from Steve Aoki and Nile Rodgers, the reimagining stays true to the uplifting spirit of the original while introducing a sleek, dance-pop vibe. Featuring re-recorded guitar from Nile Rodgers, co-writer and producer of the original track alongside Bernard Edwards, this marks the first time Rodgers has performed on a reinterpretation of the classic.
The track’s modern production comes courtesy of Sam Feldt and XANDRA, whose signature house-pop sensibilities pair seamlessly with Zak Abel’s powerful vocals. The result is a dancefloor-ready anthem infused with minimalist drum beats, vibrant percussion, and electrifying drops.
