DJ Kos’s journey is a remarkable testament to a passion for music & performance. Born into a musically gifted family in 1967, DJ Kos quickly developed a love for the arts, which blossomed during the disco era. His interest in breakdancing circa the early ’80s, sparked a yearning to entertain & create music.
Investing in Technic turntables & a Gemini mixer in 1987 was a pivotal moment that set DJ Kos on his path to becoming a skilled DJ. It was his appearance at the DMC finals in 1989, where he connected w/ influential figures such as Bad Boy Bill & DJ Muggs. DJ Kos having those meetings, further fueled his ambition.
Moving to Florida in 1991, DJ Kos made a name for himself at Hip Rock Records. He was producing tracks that resonated amid the vibrant South Florida club scene. Transitioning into electronic music in the late ’90s, DJ Kos gained recognition for performances, particularly at Reflect 2000 alongside DJ Diggabeats.
His partnership w/ DJ Xavier in 2000 was a turning point, leading to their successful “Back to the Basics” DVD/CD in 2003. By 2006, DJ Kos returned to a solo career & signed w/ East Music Group, continuously evolving his artistry.
Now signed to Trinidad Traxx & dropping two new releases, DJ Kos is ready to embark on another exciting chapter. His career exemplifies perseverance & creativity in the music industry.
