Paul van Dyk – “Guiding Light”

The legend Paul van Dyk is dropping his long-awaited album “Guiding Light” next month and the first single and title track is finally here. “Guiding Light” feat Sue McLaren is an uplifting, emotive, and gorgeous release. McLaren’s vocals float over the driving bass beats and create a spellbinding sensation. This single is just what we need to pick us up during these trying times. Paul has also been staying busy during the lockdown, doing a weekly Sunday Session live-streamed DJ set, three hours every Sunday night. Kenneth Bager – “Farmacia’ (Carl Cox Remix)

Carl Cox issued a driving Techno remix of Kenneth Bager’s visionary masterpiece “Farmacia”,  expertly adding to the record in his trademark manner. This masterful rework of “Farmacia (Homage To Frankfurt)” sees Carl Cox make his mark on the Armada Electronic Elements label for the first time. This release is helmed by deep bass rolls, gliding pads, and stomping kick drums that push sound systems to their limit. This club-tailored interpretation of the 2019 single is the kind of record people will always rush to the dance floor for!

RIOT – “Herbivore”

L.A.-based duo RIOT release their newest single “Herbivore“. After making a few personal lifestyle changes alluded to by way of the track’s title, RIOT is ready to unleash their latest creation. It is the first official track they’ve created during quarantine and are excited to come out of their creative session after some time spent undergoing deep reflection. The end result is a frenetic dubstep joint that is dressed with brain-melting acid lines, crunchy synth phrases, and an onslaught of bottom-end.

Kai Wachi – “The Keeper”

Boise’s bass behemoth Kai Wachi has returned to his roots with the hybrid heater “The Keeper” featuring Seattle rapper Macntaj. This release sees Kai Wachi bring back his trap meets dubstep signature, aided in part by slick rhymes from Macntaj who has previously collaborated with Kai on several releases. Heavy and ferocious, this grand escapade into the darkness is an ode to longtime fans, as well as a statement to new ones showing that Kai Wachi can rival the best producers out there. His impeccable songwriting and prodigious sound design abilities are on full display with this iconic record, out on Kannibalen Records July 29th.

Slow Magic X Manilla Killa – “Close 2 U”

Slow Magic teams up with Manila Killa for “Closer 2 U“. The namesake of his forthcoming EP, available now via Moving Castle. Haunting to its core, Slow Magic and Manila Killa deliver a spectral symphony in their newest track. Ripe with burgeoning synth work and otherworldly vocals this release is a striking departure from Slow Magic’s traditionally glistening sound. A powerful play to both Slow Magic and Manila Killa’s strengths, this single is the euphoric middle ground of both producer’s finest.

DJ Agile – “We’re Never Done”

Top-notch producer and party rocker, Toronto’s own DJ Agile releases his new album “We’re Never Done“. He has gained widespread recognition with his series of mixtapes, which he uses as an outlet to expose underexposed music. The new LP is music for dancing but the lyrics explore love, heartbreak, lust, and longing. DJ Agile tells human stories that you can pull from, relate to, and vibe with. Just because a topic is sad or taboo doesn’t mean you can’t dance to it.

Becky Bowe – “Cosmic Heart”

UK singer-songwriter Becky Bowe releases her newest single, “Cosmic Heart“. It is the title track of her upcoming album, which will be available in August. Creating an ethereal love song, Becky Bowe radiates pure emotion with her latest song. The release carries light tinges of jazz as a smooth trumpet is brought in to resonate with the songstresses’ voice. Based on the man who would eventually become her fiance, the single showcases a young woman’s tenacity in the knowledge that she had found her soulmate. Ending on a strong note with a choir entering at full strength, a choral element is brought forward, reinforcing the celestial soundscapes.

S9 – “Collide/Together”

UK drum & bass sensation S9 releases his high impact double-sided single by the name of “Collide / Together” feat Coppa. The UK-based producer has been creeping up the DNB hierarchy, with a growing discog of hard-hitting jump up tunes. Coppa handles bars on the lead cut “Collide,” while the flipside relies on loop vocal samples for its burning energy.

SYN – “Voices”

The Montreal-based producer SYN releases his newest single “Voices”. He recruits singer/songwriter Josh Rubin to provide a brooding vocal delivery that sits neatly between the electrifying electro beat SYN throws down. It has a dark and menacing vibe to it, which is complemented perfectly by the ruminating topline. 

TCTS – “Better With Out You”

TCTS releases his newest single Better Without Youfeaturing Glowie. The critically acclaimed UK producer, artist, remixer, and DJ activates his signature genre-bending bliss on the track. Magnifying big room energy with pop appeal, propulsive beats, and shimmering keys underscore the entrancing vocals courtesy of Glowie. The Icelandic siren’s voice resounds on the hook, delivering a soaring send-off. “Better Without You” might just be the bounciest breakup anthem ever.

Benzi – “Red Rover”

DJ-producer Benzi has been experimenting with a new sound in his music arsenal. His newest single Red Rover brings out a different side to the artist that fans have never seen before. Miles away from his trap roots, Benzi taps into a more emotional sound in this new summer track. Using Sad Alex’s enticing vocals, he produces a sentimental song yearning for a loved one’s physical embrace. While still capturing a distinct future bass sound at the drop, this eccentric track is bound to intrigue the quarantine crowd with its airy and poppy vibes

Whethan – “Hurting on Purpose”

Whethan and K. Flay release their newest collaboration, “Hurting On Purpose“. The new release is a rock-influenced track which highlights Whethan’s effortlessly cool, alt-electronic production and K.Flay’s floating yet powerful vocals

Spaceman Jack – “Control”

SpaceMan Zack releases another gritty single Control. Beginning with guitar strums straight out of a Western movie, the song eventually drifts into a hard-hitting beat and SpaceMan Zack’s eerie lyrics. His haunting vocals are so emotionally packed that listeners can almost feel his struggle of controlling himself and his demons. Using a blend of hip-hop and alternative sounds, the song packs a lot of punch in such a small time frame.

Heavyweight Records – “Heavyweight Lockdown”

Carnage‘s Heavyweight Records camp has just released their brand new “Lockdown” EP. This release is filled with top-notch fresh bass music curated entirely during live demo sessions on Twitch. The six-track EP runs the gamut of bass music, there is a little something for everyone. The Heavyweight team selected all six tracks for the release while live-streaming the demo sessions on Twitch; listeners could comment about which tracks they liked best, bringing a creative new way for a record label to connect with fans when current circumstances have live shows on hold.

Mat Zo – “Problems”

Mat Zo is excited to announce his new album “Illusion of Depth” is being released this October via Anjunabeats. The first single off the forthcoming release is “Problems” feat Olan. The new LP introduces Atlanta-based Olan, a singer, and producer that Mat has worked with for a number of years. There’s a nod to classic rave culture and the Chemical Brothers with her vocals on “Problems”. Olan says “‘Problems’ was a song that came together seamlessly at the time. We wrote the entire song in a day, but its meaning and depth wasn’t clear to me until recently. It feels like a conversation with myself or some inner spirit that’s trying to find some neutral ground or peace when I’m overwhelmed by things I can’t control. The lyrics seem to be about accepting things as they come and trust the voice in my head that tells me to keep trying my best.” We can all use this reminder during these trying times, keep trying our best!

Disclosure – “Douha (Mali Mali)”

Disclosure once again teams up with Fatoumata Diawara on their new single, Douha (Mali Mali)”. Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence first teased the song during their April Boiler Room session, live from isolation, and fans have been asking for it ever since! This release transports listeners from the dance-floor of collective memory, over continents to distant lands, to languish in ecstatic escape from the dire straits around us. Diawara sings in celebration of her birthplace and urges all Malians to be proud of their country.

Dabin – “Alive”

Dabin is making his highly-anticipated return with an acoustic version of Alive“’, the lead single off of his 2019 sophomore album “Wild Youth”. The latest rendition features subtle piano chords that start off the nearly six-minute acoustic offering, carrying throughout much of its beginning before RUNN’s soft-spoken vocal delicately trickles in. Various instrumentation can be heard, flawlessly fleshing out the tune whilst serving as a prime accompaniment to the smooth singing. In all, the rich intonations in her voice mesh perfectly with the present acoustic element. Dabin has opted for a flowing, melodious re-interpretation of his impeccably groundbreaking hit ‘Alive’, in turn producing a shimmering, fresh new take that truly elevates all the great aspects of what makes its source material so appealing.
