Clad in a fuzzy bucket hat and iridescent sequined robe, I set off on a cosmic journey to my living room to shake my booty to the intergalactic sounds of LSDREAM. Last Friday night, the Psychedelic Bass music producer unleashed the first of three live streams in the R.A.V.E Cave series which is meant to be enjoyed in your home, your way. While creativity in your space is encouraged, LSDREAM recommends you turn the lights off and let the music and visuals envelop the room.
With over 12,000 fans tuned into LSDREAM’s Twitch channel, he kicked off the stream with a new song, “Love Rocket“. The upbeat tune features a wavy bassline and a message from your alien Grandma that, “Earth is in serious trouble. For change to come you need to love the unlovely. Only love drowns out hate.” This message is on-brand for LSDREAM who uses music to discuss the current climate of the physical and spiritual world.
Sami Diament, aka LSDREAM, has been creating and using his own art for tour visuals and music videos. During his live stream, he played trippy tunes while bringing the songs to life with live visual representations. Watching him work and blend the two simultaneously gave fans an exciting peek into the production side of his art. Flashing technicolor words, The R.A.V.E Cave, filled up the screen as the journey began.
The hour-long set featured old familiars off of LSDREAM’s first two albums, “VOYAGER” and “RENEGADES OF LIGHT“. His collab EP with Shlump, “UNIVERSAL WUB“, was represented with songs like “R.A.V.E” and “STARCHILD“. As the bass crashed out of my speakers during “R.A.V.E”, I couldn’t help but spin around to the array of rainbow visuals that accompanied it. Fans were blessed with another new banger, “PEACE, LOVE, AND WUBS“, which brought some 90’s Hip Hop vibes and bouncy beat bumping through my living room. LSDREAM also mixed in songs by Jade Cicada, Ganja White Night, and his Liquid Stranger collab, “Sunken Technology”. The live stream finished strong with the world debut of LSDREAM’s new song with Z-Trip, “SPACE FUNK“. The groovy tune boasts the cosmic LSDREAM sound mixed with funky 80’s style synths.
LSDREAM was joined by his wife, Sarah Hudson, on Monday for the first of a weekly new meditation called “The Spirit Stream.” The 30-minute meditation was guided by Sarah who is featured on multiple LSDREAM tracks including “GODSPEED” and “STARCHILD“. After the session, Sami and Sarah stuck around for a “spiritual hang” where they answered questions about the meditation and talked with upwards of 1,000 followers that were tuned in. LSDREAM is passionate about his own journey of self-discovery and encourages his fans who are interested, to find an understanding of their own individual spirituality. If you enjoyed the meditation, check out his “Cosmic Soundbath” live from Okeechobee.
For those of us seeking serenity through musical comfort, LSDREAM has created a “Quarantunes” playlist on Soundcloud. The tracks offer a peaceful downtempo vibe featuring nature sounds recorded by LSDREAM himself. You can check out the creative process behind his new tracks on Instagram and see where he’s drawing inspiration from during this time of social distancing and reflection.
Don’t miss out on all the choice streams LSDREAM has to offer during this time! Get your dance on to the live DJ sets and get synched up with your spiritual side during the meditation Mondays. The R.A.V.E Cave stream is scheduled to have two more sets this month with one being a more downtempo vibe on 4/17 and a Reggae set in honor of 4/20. You can also catch LSDREAM every Monday at for his “Spirit Stream” and Wednesday’s for in the studio sessions.
