Beloved producer and D.J. Jauz has sunk his teeth into the heart and soul of his fans throughout his winter 2020 Dangerous Waters Tour— and he’s not letting go! Jauz has teamed up with Insomniac on this historic tour to present “The Fin,” a large shark fin fixture with hundreds of led light panels that literally appears to be swimming around Jauz as it circulates up and down on stage. The production also features a moving platform that rises and lowers over 12 feet of air space, similar to the Coachella tour set-up used in 2019 where Jauz went viral with his remix of popular kids song, Baby Shark. The production of “The Fin” in addition to other inventive visuals throughout the set amplifies the impressive range of genres Jauz is known for. The tour is riding the wave of the hype still building from the new EP “Dangerous Waters“, which features “Bring Em Back” by Jauz and Tynan.
The Dangerous Waters Tour has hit like a monsoon, blowing the minds of fans as it moved from East to West across the United States. The show I caught at the immaculate Mission Ballroom in Denver displayed the immense talents of Jauz, Habstrakt, and Tynan, who all excel at bending genres to produce a diverse show of feeling and sound. Jauz came out with endless energy as he played his full range of tunes to submerge fans in a nautical experience of Bass House, Dubstep, Future Bass, and Trap beats.
Habstrakt and Tynan got us warmed up with a similar mood of genre-blending and are each producing incredible music as they continue the tour. Check out Tynan’s new song, “You’ll Hate Me More Than I’ll Miss You” and Habstrakt’s new collaboration with Asdek, “Es Isso”. The more recent show at the historic Aragon Ballroom in Chicago boasted the same lineup, with the addition of the bass house duo Birthdayy Partyy, who fit the bill for pushing the genre boundaries. The visual production combined with the smart, diverse tunes from every artist back to back makes this tour one you seriously cannot miss.
Although the legendary events company Insomniac is well known for expertly curated events such as EDC, Beyond Wonderland, Electric Forest, this is the first tour presented by Insomniac. The transition has been seamless, and it appears Insomniac is only getting started. After a prolific 2019 of taking the world by tsunami at Tomorrowland, Parookaville, EDC Japan, Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, and more, it makes sense that Insomniac would choose Jauz and the Dangerous Waters Tour to embark on this historic leap into the next realm of bringing festival-like experiences to the people, wherever they are.
Jauz brings gratuitous amounts of energy to his live performances, but he also stays active on multiple online platforms to engage with his fans, fellow producers, and even other sharks! Jauz debuted a live virtual reality concert performance in partnership with the virtual entertainment platform Wave on January 8th, 2020. Fans got to experience the Dangerous Waters EP live and in virtual person while thousands of others watched via live stream. Jauz is also an active participant on Twitch and has partnered with Twitch and Discord, popular streaming and communication platforms for gamers, to host the “Demo Roulette” series. This incredible series promotes the continued growth and development of the music industry by offering aspiring producers the chance to co-produce a song using a demo from the participant. Fans watch as a demo is turned into a banger right in front of their eyes. Jauz also hosted a successful charity stream on Twitch for the Make A Wish Foundation in December, and Deadmau5 even donated $5K during the show!
But wait, what about the other sharks? In the natural progression of his rising popularity and easy-to-love personality, Jauz was the most recently discovered species of shark on the longest-running American summer TV series, Shark Week. He appeared as a guest DJ on the “Shark After Dark” program alongside comedians Rob Riggle and Adam Devine. Jauz also starred as a guest in the YouTube series “Cooking with Marshmellow” for a Shark Week special edition episode. Marshmellow and Jauz made some bomb ass fish tacos together, and if you haven’t watched, you may actually want to take notes because this recipe may change your life. Watch this video below!
Jauz is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Fans can catch Jauz b2b NGHTMRE at the 2020 Ultra Music Festival March 20-22 for a performance that is sure to be legendary. After that, Jauz will have two performances at EDC Las Vegas, with a b2b with Oliver Heldens on Saturday, May 16 and his own solo set on Sunday, May 17. After EDC, Jauz will be swimming across the Atlantic for a summer in Europe, so be sure to catch him while you can! Until then find him on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Spotify, Soundcloud, or wherever you get your music.
