With EDC Vegas only a few months away, patrons are getting anxious for updates about the event. This past week was no disappointment with three major announcements coming from the festival. Here is what you may have missed.
EDC is Expanding
In an Instagram post on February 7th, founder and CEO of Insomniac Pasquale Rotella shared some exciting news: Vegas is going to get more square footage. Since EDC first moved there 10 years ago, Rotella struggled with the layout of the festival due to hundreds of RV hookups on the grounds of the speedway. These hookups made large portions of the space completely unusable, but now they are finally being ripped out. This is going to create more room for grooving at the neonGARDEN and quantumVALLEY stages as well as help with the overall flow of the festival.
The Lineup Will Come Next Week
The best announcement we received was that the festival lineup would be coming out next Thursday at 6:00 pm PST on a special episode of Night Owl Radio. Rotella shared on Instagram that he would be creating a “Music Through Music” episode. Akin to previous year’s lineup reveals, instead of disclosing the name of each artist a small portion of one of their top songs will be strung together with other artists on the lineup. Listeners then play a fun guessing game trying to decipher every artist that’s teased.
Shuttle Information is Live
Getting to and from the speedway is an adventure all on its own. The easiest way to deal with traveling from the strip to the festival is by the official shuttle buses. EDC Vegas shuttles are the only option that will give you direct access to the festival gates, and they use a dedicated route that bypasses regular traffic. Much of the shuttle information remained the same from last year, with only a few tweaks in pricing and routes.
There are two shuttle options: standard and premier. Both options offer a security pre-check prior to arrival at the festival, making getting into the speedway a breeze. They both also offer restrooms and water at each stop and dedicated shuttle support staff to answer any questions.
The standard shuttles begin at $99 without fees and make five convenient stops along the Vegas strip. The standard shuttle will depart on an ongoing basis from 6:00 pm-11:30 pm each day, with return shuttles starting at 3:00 am. There is also an add on you can purchase if you want to attend EDC’s opening ceremonies. Headliners will head to the STRAT shuttle stop from 3 pm-6 pm to get there on time.
For premier shuttles, patrons can choose which times they would like to depart and return from the festival. For non-peak hours the pass will run you $209 without fees, and for peak hour options it will start at $219. The premier shuttle stops at MGM Grand, Mandalay Place, Luxor, Circus Circus, and Golden Nugget. The premier shuttle riders will also get perks such as one merchandise item, air-conditioned lounges and waiting areas, and reduced wait times due to limited inventory.
With this being the 10th year of EDC Vegas, headliners are expecting something huge out of Insomniac. Stay up to date on everything EDC by following them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
