One of the best things about the Phoenix music scene is how diverse it’s grown over the past decade. There seems to be a flavor for any type of EDM you’re looking for. The Ocotillo Restaurant in downtown Phoenix has opened its doors to the EDM world and has started to curate a very specific Sunday Funday vibe. The Ocotillo Open Air Festival is going to be Ocotillo’s third large scale event they will be hosting on November 10th. The bill includes some delicious names with Grum topping the list! The lineup also includes some other incredible Anjunabeats artists Oona Dahl and David Hohme. Alex Cruz will be joining the lineup getting the crowd warmed up.
Something special to note about the way Ocotillo curates their events is the fact that they strongly encourage early arrival to make sure everyone on the bill gets the love that comes from a supportive audience. I feel like this is a really special little addition that contributes to the local music scene. Another extra little treat that will be happening at this event is a yoga session to start the whole day! Anjuna has been doing a big push for the yoga feel to be apart of their label and they have done a great job. This initiative also fits perfectly with its aim to build up the crowd right from the get-go.
This show is actually apart of Grum’s current tour, Deep State. His current big hit is “Stay” originally premiered on the Anjunabeats Volume 14 album back in May of this year. If you went to any Anjuna shows over the summer, there is a 100% chance you heard it mixed into a bunch of sets. He dropped the second single off his upcoming album just a few weeks ago. “Tomorrow” brings a similar dark vibe as “Stay“. I’m really looking forward to hearing a lot of different remixes of this one! He is set to deliver his full Deep State album at the beginning of November, so we are just a few weeks away tons of tasty tracks!
I’ve attended a few corporate events at the Ocotillo Restaurant and I can see the appeal of the open outdoor terrace paired with convenient picnic tables and ample shade. There is plenty of space to dance, sit and relax, or just people watch from the terrace! I’m beyond excited to see this space filled with beautiful EDM faces and incredible trance vibes to see the venue in a different light. Something else that I definitely need to mention is their INCREDIBLE FOOD! The Ocotillo Restuarant puts some serious time and energy into creating delicious foods and an awesome drink selection. When I went there for dinner I was treated to an incredible meal of a roasted pork shank shaved over some out of this world fresh made pasta. I’ve been able to get a feel for The Ocotillo Resturant here and there, but I think my visit to Ocotillo Open Air is going to be my most memorable experience yet.
