My nightmare comes to an end while trying to find a worthy nomination for my Woman Crush Wednesday. A relatively new artist to me, is the fantastic space mom herself, REZZ. From the first refined hit of reverberating beats, mixing in some Techno elements, and dashes of dubstep REZZ will toss her set into our musical bag of tricks-or-treats at Voodoo Music Festival. REZZ will undoubtedly have you rocking your Electronic Dance Music skull-candy heads like a ghoulish bobblehead sitting on the dash of a yellow cab taxi. All the while, gazing through the Voodoo Music Festival black magic mist you will feast upon REZZ with her iconic swirly shades, and the best part is that she will stare right back, penetrating your musical soul with each beat dropped. REZZ is spinning on Sunday night which fits perfectly into the Voodoo Music Festival 2019 line up.
Typically, I’m no cool black cat batting away the days off of the kitchen calendar in anticipation of Halloween. However, if you have visited planet Nola (New Orleans), you already know the local culture is a fantastic mix of Voodoo saturated superstition and blanketed Christianity overtones that you can literally feel something is just off about this place. New Orleans’s reputation has always had an aura of mystery, superstition, and violence – Remember up is actually down in The Big Easy. REZZ’s “Nightmare on REZZ Street” set will fit so perfectly in New Orleans.
New Orleans has a distinct reputation that is attracting me and my romper to attend Voodoo Music Festival. REZZ in all her glory will be giving us just enough cinematic elements to ignite our own inner ghoulish side. Then, this Canadian native-born will stand behind her DJ cauldron for our macabre musical ears to feast upon from the moment she hits the decks. But fear not, “There is nothing to worry about”. Her pulsating “Nightmare on REZZ Street” set will build to unveil a spine-chilling invitation, to even the most pious of souls, a hazing welcome for all to join the fray of dark souled dancing. Bottom-line, REZZ’s music is going to be both the trick and the treat for this greatly anticipated festival virgin attending Voodoo Musical Festival 2019.
