There are a few essentials to consider when packing for a festival. Everything from the basics to what you learned over the years that is important. If you happen to be a new raver, take some notes kiddo! I had never been to an event like EDC Las Vegas before. It consists of three days packed with artists from around the world starting before sunset and lasting until sunrise each day. Insomniac is amazing by continuously updating Headliners to keep hydrated via the official Insomniac App, available on both Android and iPhone. Staying well hydrated is by far one of the most important nightly task for a raver. However, throughout the duration of the night, long lines make it seems less and less important. Especially when your favorite DJ is coming on in 10 minutes or, you have already spent $20 on $4 bottles of water. I was provided the opportunity to check out a new company that has developed an innovative approach to keeping festival goers moving through the night, and hydrated on a budget!
The Lunchbox is a well designed anti-theft hydration pack that is made of military-grade ballistic nylon. That’s right, you read it correctly. The Lunchbox has it all. One of my favorite features is the inward-facing zippers and clips to go along with them. I typically use a small backpack as a purse and find myself constantly looking behind me, or over my shoulder. After the first couple of hours on Day One, I stopped doing so. I felt totally secure with my backpack and wasn’t afraid of others getting to my things. Also, I really enjoyed the adjustable, removable sternum strap! My thing is to get down on the dance floor without limits. Things can get a little wild and shaky sometimes. For example, when I was hitting the bassPod stage on Friday night when Ganja White Night stole my soul I happen to run into none other than, Tom Worcester the Founder of The Lunchbox! We danced and danced hard and our Lunchbox’s were straight chillin’ and movin’ as we moved! Weren’t there some 90’s song lyrics that went, “When I dip, you dip, we dip”?
Sidebar moment!
Along with giving praise to this great product, it is as important to praise the team behind it. The team members who believed in the journey and the process. The ones who kept going when the time may have been tough. Do not forget the ones who cared to spread the word about something they believed could help you enjoy your experience that much more. Each of the team members that I had the pleasure of speaking with had great vibes, dedication and drive to keep fun and serious in the workplace! The sense of fun and family has passed to the customers; I loved seeing other attendees wearing their customized Lunchbox’s and shouting “Lunchbox Fam” down the Electric Avenue!
Let’s get back on track as to why I love this bag! The main feature of the bag is the hydration pack. Not only is it convenient to get into, but it is also insulated! I know many of you may be thinking, I have *insert other brands here* and it’s just fine for me. You need to check out the how-to video on Tom’s Instagram to fully understand but this thing is truly fest changing. Rather than fumble with a hard plastic top, or pull out a potentially leaky bag, you just swing your Lunchbox to the side, unlock your zipper and there you go! Even more fun was giving the subtle nod towards other #LunchboxFam, followed by a fist bump or high-five at the free water station because we know what’s up! I do wish the water pouch was a bit larger however, the water line goes quickly especially when you’re ready for action. After EDC Las Vegas was said and done, I tossed my bag aside and decompressed from the adventures. Two days later I found my water was still cold, no joke! An extremely impressive aspect of the bag.
I still live in the time of iPhones that fit in the palm of your hand. I know many of you do not. To me, the dedicated phone pouch was perfect for my little phone however, I have heard that for those with larger devices it was a bit problematic. When speaking with the Lunchbox team at their Block Party in Downtown Las Vegas during EDC Week, I was informed that the material has a memory to it. If this was your first time using your pack, I suggest trying out that feature one more time for it to take shape. During the Block Party, I was introduced to the lovely owners of Fancy Unicorns who happen to be partnering with Lunchbox on a project. Fancy Unicorns is a dope lifestyle brand based out of San Diego who created an amazing zip-on skin for the front of the Lunchbox. This leads me to my next favorite feature- customization. Shall we discuss the skins? I believe we shall! It sounds funny, I know, but “skins” refer to the front part of the bag which can be changed! This allows you to constantly switch up your vibe and match your outfits if that’s your deal! Don’t forget about the various EL Wire colors available for purchase also! It’s amazing to light up your bag in so many creative ways!
Last but certainly not least…
Although it is tiny, the whistle sure is mighty. If you didn’t notice it, it’s okay, it’s small and is discreetly placed on the adjustable, removable sternum strap as apart of the buckle clasp. I love to go to festivals alone; as a solo female raver, I am thankful for having this mini alarm. You just never know when someone who really isn’t about PLUR or may have consumed too much wants to act out of line. Thanks for having our backs Lunchbox!
Overall I loved my experience with my new Lunchbox. It has become a staple in my festival packing list and will go everywhere with me. My final words are for $99 you can significantly help yourself but you can also make a huge dent in your environmental impact. One less raver buying a $4 water and throwing it away, which doesn’t always make it into the can. Think about it Freaks. We care about the communities we party in. Now that festival season is officially here, let’s do this! Make sure to give me a fist bump or a shout when you see me grooving at a fest this season. Let’s keep the #lunchboxfam growing! Thank you Lunchbox for the good times, great dance moves, and many many laughs!
