The House Legends of Shambhala | Shambhala 2019 | #HNTT

by The Freaks - Staff

Shambhala Music Festival, which takes place in Salmo, British Columbia, Canada is known for its wide array of artists from a multitude of genres. Whether you’re into Funk, Bass, Dubstep, Trap, Breaks, you name it, you’ll always find something to groove to. Though I dabble in the love of many different genres, my heart belongs to House music.

Shambhala’s 2019 lineup is a FEAST for those who love to devour many flavours of House, whether it is Dark House, G-House, Tech House, Deep House, Progressive House… the list goes on. This years lineup is nothing short of pure amazement. I’ve compiled a list of some of my must see’s for this year which includes a little about the artist, what stage they’re playing and time, but also one of my favourite tracks. Make sure you INDULGE in the tasty House music when you head home to the farm this summer August 9-12th, 2019.

Anti Up (Chris Lake & Chris Lorenzo)

After multiple successful collaborations from these two behemoth House producers, Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo, it was only destiny that they join forces- thus, “Anti Up” was born. Debuting a very successful set at EDC Las Vegas in 2018, Anti Up has continued to release banger after banger!

Catch Anti Up at the Pagoda Stage at 1:45 am Friday! Listen to “Pizza” below.

ZHU

ZHU has taken the EDM scene by storm since 2014 with his release of “Faded” which managed to gain traction worldwide and is still one of those classic tracks for many to this day. This mysterious producer’s sound and vocals are unprecedented making him on my not to miss acts at Shambhala this year.

See ZHU at Pagoda Friday at 12:30 am for an unforgettable set. Listen to “Feel It Still” below.

Jack Beats

Jack Beats are legends of heavy-hitting basslines and legendary vocal samples. This duo from London consists of Scottish born Niall Dailly and Ben Geffin, who are both award-winning DJs. You will find yourself absorbed in their famous wobbly basslines and heavy breakdowns.

Catch Jack Beats at Fractal Forest Sunday at 1:30 am! Check out “Beatbox” below to get a taste of the Jack Beats goodness.

SNBRN

Kevin Chapman aka SNBRN has a mastered unique mix of deep house, nu-disco, and indie dance creating his own “Sunset House” sound. This Los Angeles based producer has followed electronic music since he was 12. After completing a degree in Audio Engineering, SNBRN was born. His vibey and booty-shaking beats will have you dancing for hours and begging for more.

Catch SNBRN at Fractal Forest 11:00 pm on Sunday. Listen to “Six Shooter” below.

Justin Martin

Justin Martin‘s set is one that I never miss no matter the festival, especially when he plays at Pagoda. Whenever he drops “Don’t Go“, I always cry an insane amount of happy tears. This talented dude is a co-founder of Dirtybird Records and all-around funny guy. “Justin Martin started playing the pots and pans at age 2… now he is a DJ”.

Catch Justin Martin at the Pagoda 10:30 pm Friday night. Listen to one of my all-time favourite songs, “Don’t Go”.

Rumpus

Rumpus‘s blend of drums and funky tunes make for the best kind of party. This artist resides in Saskatchewan, Canada and has been drumming since he was 12. After making the switch from punk rock bands to electronic music, Rumpus has been travelling the world spreading his vibey beats ever since. His high-energy shows consist of live drumming with elements from Hip Hop, Future Bass, and of course, House.

Catch Rumpus at Fractal Forest Sunday at 7:00 pm. Listen to “House Rock” below.
