Ultra Thursday | Trance Thursday | Whatever You Wanna Call It, The ASOT Lineup Is Out For Ultra!

Finally, Ultra Music Festival has unveiled the lineup for ASOT Sunday! This is the moment trance fam has been waiting for, and it’s here! The 2019 edition of ASOT Miami features some long-awaited returns, some frequent flyers (*ahem* Armin Van Buuren), as well as a huge surprise to us all. So let’s talk about it… yoy oy yoy

Opening the stage will be Fatum. This group of producers have been the mastermind behind many tracks featured in the ASOT radio show. Their tracks have also been included in many of Armin Van Buuren’s own sets. Especially this last year, with tracks like “Mowgli” (the opening song for Armin’s ASOT Miami set last year) and “Violet”, which has been mashed up with “Heading Up High” by Armin and used by him throughout 2018.

Next on the lineup is Ruben de Ronde, Armin’s right hand man when it comes to the ASOT radio show. The choice to have Ruben in this time slot makes perfect sense to me. He will surely get the crowd warmed up early on with his progressive tunes. Personally, I hope to hear him play his newest remix that he did alongside Elevven, “The Longest Road” by Morgan Page.

Cosmic Gate brings us Forward Ever, Backward Never.

Following up Ruben is Cosmic Gate, who hasn’t played on the ASOT Miami stage since 2014. This long awaited return makes perfect sense as it will be part of their 20 Years Tour. They have also had their remix of “Only Road” by Gabriel & Dresden nominated for a Grammy award this year — hopefully on Sunday we find out that they have won! Surely they’ll play that track when they take the stage, but I really hope to hear their new track “Need To Feel Loved” with Foret.

Markus Schulz will take the stage next and I know the Unicorn Slayer himself will deliver as always. Markus, who actually resides in Miami, knows how to throw a party and usually does with his open to close sets during Miami Music Week. But it will be refreshing to have him return to the ASOT Stage for Ultra. He’s another one that has had a recent release that will have trance fans singing their hearts out. I really can’t wait to hear “Symphony of Stars (ft. Christina Novelli)” live!

Vini Vici is next up and I have no doubt in my mind that they will play yet another banging psytrance filled set. But the real surprise came with their following act, which features the pair going B2B with Infected Mushroom. These guys are absolute legends, especially in the psytrance game. What I’m really hoping to see would be a live set from them. The guys of Infected Mushroom are no stranger to this type of set as they frequently perform with analog instruments like drums, guitars and keyboard. Who knows?! It’s quite possible since the ASOT Stage will be replacing the Live Stage for Sunday.

The return of a longtime trance legend.

The next person on the lineup is a familiar face on the Main Stage, but it’s been 6 years since he’s performed on the ASOT Stage. This DJ/producer is none other than Jeffrey Sutorius (formerly known as Dash Berlin). We are so happy to see him back on the ASOT lineup and are hoping that he brings us a set full of the classics he is known for. With recent drama set aside, this one is sure to be a full-on, hands-in-the-air set dedicated to the tried and true trance fans of the world.

Eric Prydz, the G.O.A.T. will follow up a pure uplifting experience with a masterpiece of a performance as usual. Whether he plays tracks from his Pryda alias, his Cirez D moniker or his own name; we know to expect a groundbreaking set. He’s no stranger to the ASOT Stage and always puts on a fantastic show. I can’t wait to see this man take the stage once again and woo us all. I’m getting all excited just thinking about it *swoon*.

And finally, the man behind ASOT will end the night and take us to trance heaven; Armin Van Buuren. He needs no introduction as he’s the brains behind this glorious trance-filled day. Armin is also a familiar face to the Main Stage and Electronic Dance Music fans around the world. But Armin’s closing set on the ASOT Stage is what we all wait for throughout the day. And this year, he will be closing out Miami Music Week for most of us. I can’t wait for another great set filled with ssssssserious uplifting trance music.
