Electronic music heavyweights SLANDER, Excision, and Blanke join forces on “Give You Love,” a highly anticipated melodic dubstep collaboration out now on SLANDER’s Heaven Sent label. After years of crossing paths at festivals and sharing back-to-back sets, the three artists bring their distinct sounds together for a track centered on heartbreak, reconciliation, and one final chance at love.
The Los Angeles-based duo SLANDER have spent the past decade shaping the dance music landscape. As a multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated act, their sound bridges the intensity of dubstep with the emotional depth of melodic bass and crossover electronic music.
Excision, based in Kelowna, British Columbia, remains one of bass music’s most influential pioneers. Through an extensive catalog of releases and his internationally recognized festivals, he has helped shape the genre’s sound and culture.
Meanwhile, Blanke, originally from Australia and now based in Denver, continues to carve out a distinctive place in electronic music. Moving between heavy bass, melodic dubstep, and drum & bass, his productions balance aggressive sound design with emotionally charged melodies.
“Give You Love” has been nearly three years in the making, with early versions appearing in SLANDER and Excision’s sets for more than a year and a half. The track unfolds as a final plea to an ex, with soft vocals and powerful vocal belts capturing the emotional weight of a devastating breakup. Atmospheric textures and arpeggios gradually build toward melodic bass stutters and a deep dubstep drop driven by rumbling, distorted synths.
The collaboration brings together the artists’ contrasting strengths, creating a melodic journey that moves from vulnerability into the powerful bass energy each producer is known for.
SLANDER recently released their StarDisc project, featuring “Lead the Way,” “Booster Ignition,” “Under My Skin,” and “Do You Feel Loved.” The latter two singles have accumulated 2.54 million and 2.17 million streams, respectively. The duo’s upcoming schedule includes festival appearances at EDC Orlando, Freaky Deaky, Decadence, and Give Thanks, alongside headline performances at Revel and The Vanguard as part of their Voyager Tour.
Excision recently wrapped the ninth edition of Lost Lands and the eighth edition of Bass Canyon, where he and SLANDER performed a B2B set for the first time in seven years. His recent festival appearances include Escape Halloween, Hulaween, and HEX Rawhide, with upcoming dates at The Rave Milwaukee, Echoa Ridge, and Decadence.
Blanke previously remixed SLANDER’s “Potions,” earning support from Gryffin, Arcane, Man Cub, and Ducky. He is currently on the co-headlining Far From Home Tour with Virtual Riot, with stops at Hollywood Palladium, San Jose Civic Center, Echostage, Rebel, The Ave, Concord Music Hall, The Complex, Silo Dallas, The Vanguard, Brooklyn Steelyard, and Royale.
Reflecting on the collaboration, SLANDER shared:
“It was such a great experience working with Excision and Blanke to find that perfect mesh of all of our sounds. We have only done a few triple collaborations in the past, and based on our experience we feel they push everyone involved to give their absolute best. There are usually a couple more creative speed bumps to get to the finish line, but the end result always shines so bright. We hope everyone enjoys the hard work all of us put into this record. We love it and we are grateful for the chance to work with our talented friends on something this special.”
Excision added:
“It was awesome getting to work on this track with SLANDER and Blanke. We each brought something different to the table, and I think our styles really came together to create something unique. It’s been over five years since my last release with SLANDER, so this track marks both a long-overdue reunion and my first collaboration with Blanke after years of crossing paths in the bass music scene.”
For Blanke, the collaboration was an opportunity to work alongside two artists who have helped shape his musical journey:
“Can’t express how awesome it is to be collaborating with two huge huge influences and giants in the scene. Slander and I have been working on multiple collab ideas for a few years now and we’re so happy to be presenting Give You Love alongside Excision. This was so much fun to create and we hope you love it.”
With “Give You Love,” SLANDER, Excision, and Blanke turn years of creative ideas and shared history into a powerful melodic bass collaboration that brings together three distinct voices from the electronic music scene.
