French producers Massane and Teho have teamed up for “Back From There,” a new collaboration arriving October 29 via Cercle Records. Built around themes of distance, nostalgia, and the feeling of being far from home, the track brings together Massane’s melodic approach and Teho’s heavier progressive sound for a production that moves from atmospheric beginnings into driving dancefloor territory.

The idea originated with Massane, whose real name is Bruno Viguier, while he was living in the United States and missing his home country of France. He began working on the original demo, but the track remained unfinished on his computer until the right opportunity came along.

That opportunity emerged after Massane met fellow French producer Teho at a show. The two kept in contact and began sharing musical ideas, discovering a natural creative connection. Eventually, Massane sent over the unfinished demo, and Teho immediately recognized its potential, responding, “This is the one.”

From there, Teho expanded on the organic foundation of the original idea, steering the production toward a heavier, more progressive direction. The finished track gradually builds from warm atmospheric passages into a more powerful arrangement, balancing melodic detail with the momentum of a club-focused production.

“The track represents that feeling of being physically far from home but mentally still there,” says Massane. “It’s a track about nostalgia, and turning that feeling into something energetic and forward-moving.”

That sentiment connects directly to Massane’s own experience. Originally from France and now based in Austin, Texas, he relocated to the United States as his touring career gained momentum. Moving between two countries while building a new life abroad has given the track’s original concept a personal dimension, reflecting the connection to home that can remain even when life takes someone elsewhere.

“Back From There” also arrives during a period of exploration for Massane. He established much of his reputation through releases on Lane 8’s This Never Happened, including the acclaimed Visage trilogy and the albums Another Dawn and By The River. More recently, collaborations and releases across different labels have given him additional opportunities to explore new directions in his production.

That willingness to experiment has been part of Massane’s creative approach from the beginning. A self-taught guitarist who started making music in his early teens, he combines organic instrumentation and detailed melodies with rougher textures, distortion, and unconventional processing. Rather than treating imperfections as something to remove, he often uses unexpected results and what he describes as “happy accidents” as starting points for new ideas.

On “Back From There,” those contrasting elements come together through a progression that transforms a reflective concept into something more physical and energetic. The collaboration gives Massane and Teho room to bring their respective approaches together while turning a personal feeling of longing into a track built for the dancefloor.
