British DJ and producer TeeDee returns to Insomniac Records with “Bad Love,” his second release on the label. The minimal tech house track has already made an impression on dancefloors throughout his summer sets, pairing soulful vocals with punchy basslines and a darker club atmosphere.
Based in Sheffield, England, TeeDee is an emerging name in the modern tech house scene, bridging the gap between commercial success and underground club culture. With platinum-certified top 10 hits already part of his résumé, he brings a sound shaped by the UK’s northern bassline movement of the 2000s, combining infectious hooks with a focus on dancefloor energy.
“Bad Love” explores the tension of a dysfunctional relationship through soulful, R&B-infused vocals and lyrics about a partner who ultimately isn’t worth the trouble. The production reinforces that feeling with a rapid, punchy bassline, crisp percussion, and a dark undertone. The result balances a catchy vocal hook with the stripped-back rhythm and low-end drive associated with minimal tech house.
The track has already received early live support from Riordan and East End Dubz, adding to the momentum surrounding the release. It follows TeeDee’s Insomniac Records debut, “I Just Need You,” which arrived in July and earned mixshow support from BIJOU, ACRAZE, Tough Love, Tomo Hirata, and Tim Hox.
His broader catalog has also attracted recognition from industry tastemakers, including Max Dean, Joseph Capriati, Prospa, Alisha, SOSA, Omar+, and Cloonee. Beyond his releases, TeeDee has sold out 34 headline shows, including performances under his own Hyperactive World showcase brand. Those events have taken place at venues such as Ministry of Sound London, WAV Liverpool, OFF BCN, Sawmills Bristol, IDRA Manchester, Hazy Club, and Amber’s.
His upcoming schedule includes appearances at The Warehouse Project and Hyperactive World at NX Newcastle, alongside a North American tour featuring stops at Floyd Miami, SILO NYC, Halcyon, Spybar, Bijou, Coda, Culture, and Sound Nightclub.
Reflecting on the release, TeeDee shared his excitement about bringing the track to a wider audience after testing it throughout the summer.

“I’m buzzing to get ‘Bad Love’ out. It’s a record I was confident would react well in my sets as soon as I made it. Playing it out live this summer has been a lot of fun across all my shows and festival plays. It’s been great to see so much support from my peers as well, like Riordan and East End Dubz, just to name a few. Really pleased Insomniac liked the record as much as I do and were up for working with us on the release to help it reach more ears.” — TeeDee
With “Bad Love,” TeeDee builds on his relationship with Insomniac Records while continuing to develop a sound that connects UK bassline influences with contemporary tech house. Following a summer of live testing and early support from fellow artists, the single brings another dancefloor-focused release to his growing catalog.
