Grammy-winning French disco pioneer Cerrone joins forces with Asa Taccone of Electric Guest on “Hell,” a new single released October 2 via Malligator / Because Music.

Driven by Cerrone’s unmistakable disco rhythms and a magnetic vocal performance from Electric Guest, “Hell” brings together two distinct musical worlds with a shared purpose: making people dance. The track pairs Cerrone’s enduring sense of groove with Electric Guest’s sleek pop energy, showcasing the French producer’s ability to bridge generations while continuing to build on his musical legacy.

For five decades, Cerrone has remained one of disco’s most influential architects. His 1976 breakthrough “Love in C Minor,” which celebrates its 50th anniversary this November, became an international hit and helped establish a body of work that has sold more than 30 million records worldwide. He followed it with “Supernature,” which topped the US Dance chart and further cemented his place in dance music history.

Cerrone’s influence has continued well beyond disco’s original era, with his music sampled and celebrated by generations of artists, including Daft Punk and Bob Sinclar. His sound continues to find its way into modern disco, pop and electronic music, demonstrating the lasting impact of the rhythmic foundation he helped establish.

On the other side of the collaboration, Asa Taccone is the Grammy-winning songwriter, producer and frontman behind Electric Guest. Across four albums, the duo has generated more than half a billion streams worldwide. Beyond Electric Guest, Taccone co-wrote and co-produced Portugal. The Man’s 7x-Platinum hit “Feel It Still” and has worked across a wide range of projects with artists including The Weeknd, Carly Rae Jepsen, H.E.R., Charlotte Gainsbourg and Foster the People.

The collaboration brings together decades of musical experience without losing sight of the dancefloor. “Hell” continues Cerrone’s ability to move between eras while maintaining the pulse that has defined his work for generations. With Electric Guest adding a distinctly modern pop sensibility, the track connects the timeless appeal of disco with a contemporary approach to songwriting and production.

As Cerrone approaches the 50th anniversary of “Love in C Minor,” “Hell” serves as another chapter in a career that continues to cross musical generations. The result is a collaboration that looks forward while remaining firmly connected to the groove that helped make Cerrone a defining figure in dance music.

“Hell” is out now via Malligator / Because Music.
