Manchester house heavyweights Solardo are teaming up with UK duo Maur once again for “Free,” a new collaboration arriving October 2 via Rendezvous Sound. The track marks the third time the two acts have joined forces, continuing a creative relationship that has already produced “Power” on Ultra and “My Love” on Sola.
Running at 129 BPM, “Free” is built for the dancefloor, pairing a rolling groove with chunky basslines, warm low-end pressure, and a soulful vocal hook. The production draws on the energy of ’90s rave while combining it with contemporary house production, giving the track the feel of a classic club anthem without losing the identity of either act.
The track has already been tested in front of large festival crowds, with Carl Cox opening his Creamfields 2026 set with “Free.” The early play gave fans a first look at the track’s ability to immediately set the tone for a dancefloor.
“‘Free’ came together really naturally with Maur. The last time we released together was five years ago with ‘Power’, so it felt right getting back in the studio and doing something again. We wanted to encompass that ’90s rave and dance sound, with that proper anthem feel and loads of energy, but still make it feel current and like us. We’ve been playing it out and it’s been going off, so we’re buzzing to finally get it out on Rendezvous,” Solardo says.
For Maur, the latest collaboration came together just as quickly.
“Our second collaboration with Solardo feels really special. The lads loved the first demo, so we drove up to Manchester that week and finished it in one all-nighter. Hearing Carl Cox give it its first proper spin at UNVRS and Creamfields was a pretty mad moment!” Maur explains.
“Free” also reflects Solardo’s ongoing interest in the sounds that helped shape their approach to house music. The track taps into the renewed interest in the mid-2010s deep tech and house sound, bringing its grooves, vocal-led hooks, and raw club energy into a modern setting.
The collaboration also adds another chapter to the relationship between Solardo and Maur. Their first studio link-up resulted in “Power,” before they reunited with Faber for “My Love” via Sola. With “Free,” the two acts complete their latest trilogy with a record designed for peak-time dancefloors.
“Free” arrives October 2 via Rendezvous Sound, bringing Solardo and Maur’s shared love of house music, rave energy, and big-room moments together once again.
