Southern California deathcore band Rev3rent is turning up the intensity ahead of its debut album She Let The World Run Rampant with the release of “Lacerations and The Feeling of Dying.” Arriving ahead of the album’s October 30 release through Deep Love Recordings, the new single delivers a relentless combination of crushing breakdowns, aggressive screams, and full-throttle force.

“Lacerations and The Feeling of Dying” follows the previously released “She Let The World Run Rampant” and offers another glimpse into the sound of Rev3rent, a band determined to push deathcore forward without losing the raw intensity that made the genre so powerful in the first place.

Produced alongside Grammy-nominated producer Drew Fulk, also known as WZRD BLD, whose credits include Knocked Loose and Motionless in White, She Let The World Run Rampant features thirteen tracks centered around loss, heartbreak, and the darker emotions people carry with them.

For vocalist Josh Bailey Guard, however, the album is about more than simply creating heavy music. At the heart of Rev3rent is the desire to give listeners a way to step outside the difficulties of everyday life and find something meaningful through music.

“I want to be able to help people with the music, not just play for them. Help people have fun and get out of their heads. Because the world sucks right now, and music is a good way to get out of that.”

That sense of openness also comes through on the previously released “Last One Here,” where Guard addresses his own experiences with suicide, depression, and self-harm. The willingness to confront difficult subjects without hiding behind the music has become a defining part of Rev3rent’s identity and will play a major role throughout the debut album.

The band emerged from Southern California’s underground screamo scene, bringing an unpredictable energy to the deathcore foundations at the center of its sound. Neck-snapping breakdowns, crushing slams, extreme vocals, and technical death metal influences remain central, but Rev3rent approaches those elements with a distinctly forward-looking attitude.

Rather than relying on nostalgia, the band is focused on developing its own identity. That youth-driven spirit is reflected in both its music and live performances, where the intensity of the songs translates into an atmosphere designed to pull audiences directly into the experience.

With She Let The World Run Rampant, Rev3rent aims to explore what deathcore can become while maintaining the aggression that defines the genre. “Lacerations and The Feeling of Dying” is another example of that approach, pushing the band’s sound toward something heavier, more immediate, and unapologetically intense.

The band will bring that energy to the road this fall, joining Slaughter to Prevail for a North American tour. Rev3rent will also perform at Furnace Fest in Birmingham, Alabama, on October 11.

With the debut album arriving October 30, “Lacerations and The Feeling of Dying” gives listeners another brutal preview of what Rev3rent has been building. She Let The World Run Rampant promises to carry the band’s mix of aggression, vulnerability, and ambition into its next chapter.
