On September 25, Seven Lions brought his cinematic electronic sound to the symphonic stage with Opus Harmonia, a landmark one-night-only performance alongside the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. The sold-out event reimagined some of the producer’s most beloved compositions through the scale and depth of a live orchestra, creating a new experience for fans of his music.
Created in partnership with Andrew Joslyn, Seattle Symphony Associate Director of Popular Programming and an acclaimed composer and orchestrator, Opus Harmonia transformed 17 Seven Lions compositions through the power of a 60-piece orchestra. Norman Huynh conducted the performance, with Joslyn serving as composer and orchestrator, bringing the producer’s sweeping melodies and atmospheric production into a symphonic setting.
The evening also featured special guest vocalists Brieanna Grace, HALIENE, Kerli, Fiora, Dylan Matthew, and Jonathan Mendelsohn, who joined Seven Lions and the orchestra throughout the performance. Adding another dimension to the production, Seven Lions played drums live alongside the musicians for all 17 songs, marking a first for the electronic artist.
The final three performances became defining moments of the night. Kerli delivered “Worlds Apart,” followed by Brieanna Grace performing “Strangers” and Dylan Matthew closing the sequence with “First Time.” Each song prompted an enthusiastic response from the audience, with the crowd singing along and erupting in excitement. Together, the three performances brought the evening to an emotional close, leaving the room buzzing through the final moments.
Reflecting on the experience, Seven Lions shared his gratitude for everyone involved in bringing the ambitious production to life.
“I just want to say how grateful I am. It was meaningful in a way I can’t even begin to describe. Whether you were part of the amazing team that put on the show, one of the performers or in the crowd, I just want to thank you and tell you how much I appreciate you. I will carry this with me always,” said Seven Lions.
The performance also marked a historic milestone for the Seattle Symphony, representing its first collaboration with an electronic music artist on this scale. Through the partnership between Seven Lions and Joslyn, the producer’s cinematic soundscapes, expansive melodies, and emotionally driven compositions took on a new form, bringing electronic music and orchestral performance together in a shared live setting.
Interest in the production was clear before the first note was played. Opus Harmonia sold out in less than 24 hours after presale began, with all 2,000 tickets claimed. Following the performance, fans have already expressed interest in an official Opus Harmonia album and additional opportunities to experience the orchestral production live.
For more than a decade, Seven Lions has built immersive musical worlds by blending electronic music with cinematic composition and emotional storytelling. His recent creative chapter has included the acclaimed album Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars and its companion EP, The Dreams Strange and Eternal. The projects earned recognition from Dancing Astronaut, which named the album its Album of the Year, and the EDM Awards, where it received Best Album.
With Opus Harmonia, Seven Lions expanded that artistic vision into an entirely new setting, bringing 17 compositions to life through a full symphony orchestra.
